Trump Rips 'Stupid' Republicans Like Mitch McConnell For Not Pushing Election Lies In Unhinged Interview

Trump Rips 'Stupid' Republicans Like Mitch McConnell For Not Pushing Election Lies In Unhinged Interview
OAN

It has been seven months since former President Donald Trump lost his bid for re-election to the highest office in the nation.

But the 74-year-old still cannot move on with his life.

A hallmark of Trump's final days in office was pushing the a Big Lie of widespread election fraud and a stolen election.

During the weeks following the election, Trump's lawyers tied up courts with unfounded litigation and baseless claims all with the intent to overturn election results.

Some members of his own party didn't support the lie, including then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who gave a speech against "damaging [our] Republic forever" against those of his party who supported the "Big Lie."

Trump remains extremely upset about it as shown in a recent interview he gave to far-right media outlet OAN.

The interview was absolutely bizarre even for One America News Network—which features almost exclusively cartoonish far-right propaganda.

"Republicans don't want to talk about [the election], the weak or stupid or RINOs or call them whatever you want," Trump ranted, failing to specify exactly what about the election he wanted people to talk about.

"And yet the voter, the Republican voter, that's what they want to hear. They want to hear about 2020."

"They want to find out what's going on. The Republican voter wants the story, the weak Republican politician doesn't want to talk about this story because they think it's bad politically. I think it's great politically, I think it's great politically."

He also directly blamed Republican McConnell for not overturning the election in 2020 for his inability to stay in office.

As opposed to the almost 8 million more people who voted for President Joe Biden.

"If Mitch McConnell fought in the Senate for election integrity, you would have lots of vetoes coming out right now out of the White House because you'd have a different President."

In a surprise move, McConnell did, in fact, fight for election integrity.

It just so happens the integrity of the election stood against former President Trump.

One thing the American citizens can take comfort in is Trump is, for the time being, out of office. But this narrative surrounding the Big Lie does not seem to be going away.

In order to prevent another crisis like the one following the 2020 election, politicians in Washington will need to do something to ensure this never happens again.

Trump Dragged After Making Outrageous Comparison To Zohran Mamdani In Viral Clip

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he asserted during a 60 Minutes interview with Norah O'Donnell that he's "much better-looking" than New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—a claim that not a soul is taking seriously.

Trump isn't exactly known to be a looker but he has nonetheless declared himself a "perfect physical specimen" and boasted about his physical prowess, once noting that his own White House physician had declared him "healthier than Obama"—despite Trump's distaste for exercise and fondness for fast food.
