Trump Gets U.S. Military Troops To Boo Democrats And 'Fake News' During Alarming Speech

President Trump spoke to U.S. military service members at Fort Bragg on Tuesday, and the soldiers erupted in boos when Trump mentioned former President Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, and the "fake news" covering the event.

Members of the military stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, erupted in boos when President Donald Trump goaded them during a speech in which he attacked former President Joe Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and the "fake news" covering the ongoing protests in L.A. in response to the Trump administration's immigration raids.

The military has a longstanding tradition of remaining nonpartisan so it was striking that those in attendance, many of whom wore military fatigues, booed in the first place.

Attacking Newsom and Bass directly, Trump said:

"In Los Angeles, California, the governor, the mayor of Los Angeles..."—[here, the military boos]—"They're incompetent and they paid troublemakers, agitators, and insurrectionists. They're engaged in this willful attempt to nullify federal law and aid the occupation of the city by criminal invaders."

The military members in attendance booed again when Trump attacked the free press:

"A little news for the fake news back there, the fake news. Look at them. Look at them all, ladies and gentlemen. ... what I have to put up with."
"What I have to put up with! They've been very nice today. They were impressed with that display, I can tell you that."

On the subject of Biden, Trump noted that his predecessor's administration had renamed Fort Bragg to Fort Liberty in 2023, following a congressionally mandated directive to rename military installations that honored Confederate generals. The Trump administration has since reversed that decision, restoring the original name.

He said, to boos:

“Can you believe they changed that name in the last administration for a little bit?”

And they booed again when Trump said Biden wouldn't attract this many attendees:

“Do you think this crowd would have showed up for Biden? I don’t think so. I don’t think so. I don’t think so, maybe I’m wrong."

You can watch what happened in the video below.

Many are alarmed by the military's reaction and criticized Trump's statements.

Hundreds of service members were in attendance, including those members who were sat behind the podium, as Trump celebrated the Army's 250th anniversary.

Trump's appearance comes just a few days before an official festival to mark the occasion, which is scheduled for his birthday, June 14. The date has also drawn criticism because it's the day of the upcoming military parade.

Army officials estimate that the entire festival and parade could cost between $25 million and $45 million, though they did not reveal the projected cost until after the parade was added to the schedule. Army officials stated that the Army is not expected to formally recognize Trump’s birthday.

People Who Smashed Wedding Cake In Their Spouse's Face Reveal How Their Relationship Is Going Now

According to The Knot wedding resource magazine and website, smashing cake into the face of a spouse after tying the knot is a tradition tied to medieval England. To celebrate the marriage, the bride would toss a piece of piece of cake over her shoulder for good luck.

This evolved into newlyweds feeding a piece of cake to one another, then taking frosting or a small bit of cake and rubbing it gently onto each other's faces—usually the cheek or tip of the nose.

Trump Dragged After Hilariously Flubbing Insult About Biden's Mental Acuity

The term malaphor means when two or more colloquial phrases or idioms get confused and combined to create something nonsensical. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), malaphors are a common symptom of frontotemporal dementia or other cognitive impairments.

So when a person seeks to accuse someone of being unintelligent, their use of malaphors is ironic and possibly very telling—narcissists will always accuse others of their own faults and failures.
