On Tuesday, when asked if he agreed with the Republican National Committee's assessment of January 6th as "legitimate political discourse," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell did not hold back, calling January 6th:

"a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election."

So, an angry response from Donald Trump was inevitable, and he did not disappoint.

Trump sent out a statement Wednesday afternoon condemning McConnell for his remarks.

In the diatribe, Trump cited his completely baseless claim that the 2020 election was rigged and that he really won.

"Mitch McConnell does not speak for the Republican Party, and does not represent the views of the vast majority of its voters. He did nothing to fight for his constituents and stop the most fraudulent election in American history."

He proceeded to blame McConnell for everything he sees as wrong with the country.

"And he does nothing to stop the lawless Biden Administration, the invasion of our Borders, rising Inflation, Unconstitutional mandates, the persecution of political opponents, fact finding on the incompetent Afghanistan withdrawal, the giving away our energy independence, etc., which is all because of the fraudulent election"

Trump continued the blame game:

"If Mitch would have fought for the election, like the Democrats would have if in the same position, we would not be discussing any of the above today, and our Country would be STRONG and PROUD instead of weak and embarrassed."

Twitter users were not surprised by Trump's outburst, but took the opportunity to drag him.

While there seems to be significant discord in the ranks of the Republican Party, it remains to be seen whether it will have any lasting impact, particularly if Trump decides to run for President again in 2024.

Former 'Jimmy Kimmel' Writer Epically Fires Back At 'Bruised Skin' Trump In Blistering Congressional Testimony

Bess Kalb, a former writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, criticized President Donald Trump during a hearing on Capitol Hill called “Silencing Dissent: The First Amendment Under Attack,” saying the president is the program's "best and worst audience" with "inexplicably bruised" and "very thin" skin.

Kalb's appearance is no accident given how much Jimmy Kimmel Live! has offended Trump's sensibilities over the years—and how he tried to pull it off the air last year.
