TikToker @bandanabixch14 was confused after feeling a bump in her Shein overalls that beeped when she pressed it—and was totally weirded out after it was revealed to be a Chipolo tracker.

In 2024, most products are more expensive than they were before, and we still hold out hope that if we spend more money on a product, we'll get a better quality product than we would if we spent less.

But no one is going out there spending money to purchase clothes that have location trackers in them.

That's exactly what TikToker @bandanabixch14 experienced after online shopping and purchasing a pair of really cute overalls.

While filming a video showing and reviewing the overalls, she realized that she felt a weird bump against her back, where the two shoulder straps criss-cross over each other.

After reaching behind her back to feel the bump, she was horrified to hear a beeping sound from inside the new garment.

The video then cut to her holding the overalls while holding a knife, which she used to cut the fabric open. She soon revealed a small, white circular piece of plastic, which turned out to be a Chipolo tracker, something consumers commonly use on their keychains.

What yall missed was the panic attack and the police report but ive had these for a lil while now and I had no idea bro😭i feel so violated #fyp #foryoupage #foryou #shein

Fellow TikTokers were horrified by the discovery.

Not only was it shocking for the TikToker to find a tracker in her clothes, but Chipolo tracker has a very limited range of detection. If the person who planted the tracker wanted it to be effective, they would have to be in very close proximity to the TikToker, which her audience found chilling.

The TikToker shared a follow-up video after she filed a police report.

Ntm on me in that video and excuse my french #fyp #foryoupage #foryou #sheintracker

While viewers were relieved that she had filed a report, they were confused when she said that the police accepted the report but then gave her the tracker back, instead of taking it in as evidence.

At this point, more viewers wondered if the TikToker planted the tracker for views, but she posted a third and "hopefully final" update, in which she appeared emotionally overwhelmed.

She explained that this had been a traumatic experience for her and that she only wished she had been joking.

Hopefully this my last time tb it but final update #greenscreen #fyp #foryoupage #foryou #sheintracker

It remains unclear who planted the tracker and why. Some theorized that it was to limit the number of "did not receive a package" notices the seller received, but using a Chipolo tracker would not help with that due to its limited range.

Hopefully nothing nefarious was going on, and the TikToker will be able to move on and enjoy her purchase.

Man Goes Viral After 3D-Printing A 6-Pound Phone Case To Combat Screen Addiction

Many Millennials will remember back in the nineties as the last of the "latchkey kids" who were prominently babysat by their televisions, and the commercials that rolled out, made popular on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, promoting kids to go play outside instead of watching TV all day.

Now in 2025, videos on Instagram and TikTok encouraging people to "pause their scroll" and to "put down their phones" are becoming more common and popular, because people are realizing how detrimental our increasing screen time is to our emotional, physical, and psychological health.

Woman Sparks Heated Debate After Encouraging People To Smile At Walmart Greeters

There's an old saying that goes, "It costs nothing to be kind."

Smiling at a stranger, saying hi back to a young and socialable child, holding a door for someone, and maybe even exchanging a pleasantry or two at the checkout line costs nothing more than a few words passing our lips and showing a little kindness.
