Late Show host Stephen Colbert joined iconic feminist and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for her workout session at the gym, and he struggled to keep up in a hilarious clip that aired on Wednesday night's show.

Ginsburg, who doesn't plan on retiring any time soon, sat down with Colbert and discussed various topics including what she had in common with Notorious B.I.G. and settled a debate over whether or not hot dogs were sandwiches.

The 85-year-old Associate Justice is also a fitness guru whose workout is "super hard," to which Colbert commented, "If I had a lifetime appointment to a job that let me wear a robe, I would definitely let myself go. 'Cause it's just a black muumuu. It would be nothing but fondue 24/7."

Colbert was invited to join Ginsburg at the gym located in the Watergate apartments in Washington, D.C. Before starting her routine, Colbert asked out of courtesy how he should address her. "You're not a judge. Do I call you "Your Honor" or "Your Bader-Ginship" or do I call you "Lady Justice?"

"You can call me "Justice," she said.

Colbert was quick to note "Now you're the 'Notorious R.B.G.'" Ginsburg commented on how she was asked what she had in common with the famous rapper Notorious B.I.G. "We were both born and bred in Brooklyn."

"And both of you are implicated in Tupac's murder," quipped the Late Show host.

Although he was briefed on not asking about any pending cases, Colbert did want to settle the score on "one of the divisive issues" facing the country. "Is a hot dog a sandwich?"

In true Justice-like fashion, Ginsburg first asked him to describe what comprises a sandwich. When told that it involved two pieces of bread, she asked if a roll not completely cut in half is still considered a sandwich.

"See, this is why you're in the Supreme Court. That gets immediately to the question: does the roll need to be separated into two parts? Because a sub sandwich, a sub is not split, and yet, it is a sandwich." He then asked for confirmation if a hot dog was a sandwich, to which the Justice answered, "On your definition it is."

Gavel drop.

Colbert was pumped to try her workout. "I wanna see what your workout is. Let's get fully ripped and exploded. Let's get shredded. Let's get stupid-strong."

The 53-year-old talk show host struggled to keep up with the fitness routine as the pair stretched, hit the treadmill, and did some resistance training. As he worked some wisecracks into the session, he managed to cramp up as well.

Colbert had an epiphany after assessing the workout. "I had reached my decision in the case of RBG versus kicking ass," he declared. "Not only can the justice last another five years on the bench – I believe she could've killed Tupac."
