Former President Donald Trump's ex-personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has become infamous for his bumbling defenses of Trump and his regular spouting of conspiracy theories, especially in regards to Trump's fantasies that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him.

Now, Giuliani is joining the chorus of Republican voices slamming President Joe Biden for his handling of Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, insisting that Trump—who was repeatedly accused of being soft on Russia—never would've allowed the invasion to occur.

Giuliani attempted to back up these claims with a bizarre anecdote he gave to far-right disinformation outlet Newsmax about then-President Trump supposedly threatening Putin.

Watch below.

Giuliani: We don't need the President telling us we're not going to use the military | 'Wise Guys'youtu.be

Giuliani started by defending Trump for calling Putin's strategy "smart," saying:

“That’s why [Trump]'s a genius. Of course he says he’s smart: ‘Hey Vladimir, you’re really, really smart.’”

Emphasizing that Trump authorized him to tell the story, Giuliani added:

"[Trump] says, ‘Vladimir, you shouldn’t, like, attack Ukraine. I never liked those big, what are those things you got in Moscow, those big bubbles? Those big gold bubbles, I never liked those things, so I’m gonna have to blow them up,’ So Putin says, ‘They’re churches.' 'Oh, Vladimir, don’t tell me that about churches, c’mon. Churches? You can fool Bush, you can’t fool me. You care about churches?'”

Giuliani was apparently referring to the Cathedral of the Annunciation, one of Moscow's defining landmarks, famous for the gold orbs topping its steeples.

Social media users weren't buying Giuliani's version of events.

Others were amazed Giuliani thought the anecdote made Trump look good.

Not too reassuring.

Hillary Clinton Just Threw Some Epic Shade At Trump Over His Push To Print $250 Bills Featuring His Portrait

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mocked President Donald Trump following a report he approved a proposed design featuring his portrait on a new $250 bill bearing his signature, despite longstanding federal law barring living people from appearing on U.S. currency.

According to four current and former Treasury Department employees who spoke to the Post anonymously out of fear of retaliation, two political appointees at the department—U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and senior adviser Mike Brown—repeatedly pressed Bureau of Engraving and Printing staff beginning last year to develop prototype designs for the bill.
