Reddit user pedrob_d asked: 'What is a "rich person thing" you would be totally into if you became rich?'

There's a popular saying going around on social media right now that says, "If I won the lottery, I wouldn't tell people, but there would be signs."

Because the truth of the matter is, most of us would explore some hobbies that are completely inaccessible to us because of the income bracket we find ourselves in, even if it was just buying a few more books each month and adding built-in shelving instead of using boards and cement blocks.

Curious, Redditor pedrob_d asked:

"What is a 'rich person thing' you would be totally into if you became rich?"

Personal Assistants, For the Win

"Paying people to do all of the 'chores' of being a grown-up: scheduling appointments, paying my bills, cleaning my home, cooking my food, running errands, buying clothes, maintaining my home, etc."

- apostate46

Simple Financial Security

"Not worrying about money. That seems so nice."

- DennisPikePhoto

"Right? I don't need chefs and maids. I just wanna go to the grocery and buy whatever I need for the week AND make my car payment! Lol (laughing out loud)."

- Sea-Pea4680

A Chef in Action

"Hiring a personal chef."

- navybluepearl

"Oh, that's a good one! I was gonna say buying food, but why stop there when you can also have someone cook the food!"

- TheRealDedmanGraves

"If I were legitimately suddenly rich, my sister has a culinary degree. She learned that she hated working in a restaurant kitchen but I know she loves cooking and she's a good cook."

"I would probably pay her to cook for us five times a week or something. Give her a good job without crazy hours doing what she enjoys without the constant stress and pressure of a restaurant."

- leonprimrose

What Else Could a Rich Person Want?

"Secret passages in my home."

- Thin-Rip-3686

"I saw a video recently of a house with a big hidden door that opens up on one wall of their living room and their huge Christmas tree slides in there when it’s time to put it away for the year. No undecorating, no boxing it up. Literally 30 seconds and it’s gone until next year. Your comment reminded me of that."

- Guac_is_extra_

Ahh, Spa Days

"Spa days!"

- whirlgirl88

"I've done this once! Didn't think of myself as a spa guy... I definitely am. Saving money to do it again this year."

- SolitaryApothecary

Seasons During into Verbs

"Going on multiple vacations a year."

- Drake_Cloans

"Summering."

- theshow54321

"Anyone who makes summer or winter into a verb is definitely in a higher financial league than I am. The only season I ever verb is 'fall,' and I don't think I'm doing it right."

- NetDork

Retiring Early or Retiring At All

"My friend's ex-wife inherited several million dollars when her father died (which was after they divorced) and retired in her mid-40s. She was running her own (small) business at the time and sold the business, but she also owned the building the business was based in and leased it to the new owners of the business. So she now has that income on top of her millions of dollars."

"My friend doesn't know the exact amount she inherited but says he'd be surprised if it wasn't at least five to seven million."

"My friend said she remodeled her entire house after getting the inheritance as well and paid off the remaining mortgage. That sounds like a pretty sweet situation to be in."

- temalyen

A Sense of Style

"Hire a stylist. I still dress like a hungover college student as a functioning adult."

- lilac_daze

"This is me. I would kill to have someone help me figure out what to wear. And it wouldn't hurt to have someone do my hair, nails, feed me a proper diet, and help me stay in shape."

"A team of people to help me look like I got my s**t together. All of that please."

- spiralaalarips

The Foodies Have Spoken

"Go to different countries, then stay and eat at luxury restaurants and hotel."

- young_memory

"I'd do that but also hire someone to take me around to thr best street food and local spots. My partner is Dominican. We always have a guy who drives us around. We eat the best food because he knows where it's at."

- Responsible_Fish1222

Ah, Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice

"I was dating a guy, in college, who came from a pretty privileged background."

"We were having lunch and, when he took a sip of his OJ, he immediately spit it back out into the bottle, pulled my bottle from my hand and said, 'Don’t drink it, it’s gone bad!'"

"It hadn’t gone bad, he had only ever had fresh squeezed OJ before, so Tropicana tasted like rot to him."

"I could definitely get used to that."

- whitneywestmoreland

All the Bells and Whistles

"Skiing. I’m already totally into it, but I do it in poor person style, never staying at the resort, packing PBJ sandwiches in my pockets, etc."

"If I was rich, I’d be eating at the resorts and staying at their lodging. I’d probably get a gear locker for the season, too."

- innocuous_gorilla

Too Good to Be True

"I’d get all personally made bras. Perfectly comfortable, no slip or movement, just for me, 100% every bras made for my body."

- FireyToots

"Whoa. That's, like, my dream."

- Silver_Swim_6054

A Real Life House Manager

"House manager. All my really wealthy clients have one. They handle all the day to day chores and make sure everything the home needs is done."

"It can be a great gig. One house manager I know has worked for the same family for over 30 years. When they built their new home in West Palm Beach, Florida, they actually built him his own suite off the main floor. He gets to fly on their plane six times per year."

- detroitragace

Sizeable and Distant

"Owning a very very VERY large plot of land."

- Napalm2142

"Or, as I like to call it in my own personal real estate pipe dream, 'F**k Off Estates.'"

- dj_arcsine

This Is the One

"Patron of the arts!"

- evasandor

"Same. I love seeing theater and symphony performances, but I'd absolutely get better seats, donate to organizations, and sponsor tickets for people who can't afford to go."

- Sage_Planter

"I’d be handing out grants to make the art. Because doing so is good for the mind, and it’s fun, and the world needs more fun and good minds."

- evasandor

"Those artists would eat well if I was blessed with money."

- World_of_Warshipgirl

"God, I would commission so much art."

- Mainstreamnerd

While we might joke about buying a jet or a large collection of limited edition sports cars, most of us would just like some increased comfort and convenience.

From wishing for a chef to a personal stylist to wanting to support the arts, most of these wishes would simply make a person feel more comfortable in their own skin or would feed their soul in some way, which are some of the most important things that money could buy.
