Nancy did not come to play.

Former Texas Representative Beto O'Rourke (D) made waves on Thursday morning after throwing his hat into the ring to challenge President Donald Trump in the 2020 Presidential election.

One of the first people asked to comment on O'Rourke's candidacy was Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

When asked by NBC's Kasie Hunt whether or not O'Rourke—a three term congressman—has adequate experience to ascend to the White House, Pelosi responded with a dose of her trademark shade.

“And you ask me that when we have a President of the United States who never—you know—please. Yes, the answer is yes.”

Watch below:

Unlike Beto O'Rourke, President Donald Trump had never held public office before his upset victory against former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who had previously been a First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State.

Despite his inexperience, Trump's acumen as a businessman was cited by his supporters as a qualification, but that acumen remains debatable.

Denizens of the internet applauded Pelosi's clapback.

Pelosi went on to describe O'Rourke as a "welcome addition" to the already crowded field of Democratic candidates for 2020.

While many commended Pelosi's answer, others were upset that the reputable Kasie Hunt posed the question in the first place.

Regardless of the question's merits, Pelosi's answer is just one reason that the House of Representatives is in capable hands.
