US Olympic Curling Team Gets Last-Minute Surprise Pep-Talk From A-Team Star Mr. T

The U.S. Olympic curling team received a surprise phone call oh Saturday from Mr. T, who gave them some inspirational last minute support.


The former athlete and star of the 1980's TV series The A-Team surprised several members of the U.S. Olympic curling team on Saturday shortly before their final match with Sweden.

Team members John Shuster, Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner and Joe Polo were extremely appreciative of the call, saying that they "can't thank T enough for calling and hopping on board" the team USA "train."

"I want you guys to know, I'm your biggest fan back here in the United States," Mr. T told the team. "You know I love what you're doing and I understand the athletic ability that it takes."

Who knew Mr. T was a fan of curling, of all things?

Mr. T, whose real name is Laurence Tureaud, also issed a series of supportive tweets ahead of the game that will determine which country takes home the Gold. He said he expects "PAIN for Sweden and victory for the USA!"

He also told the team to "live the dream and make it real."

In his final public message of support for Team USA, Mr. T said "now go out there and do what you best. Bring home the Gold or else!"

His support seems to have paid off. The United States defeated the Swedish curling team, taking home the Gold medal on Saturday night. "Congratulation USA," Mr. T tweeted. "We did it! John shuster, Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner and Joe Polo. Magnificent, I'm so proud of you guys!"

Fans of the US curling team expressed their support too.

Lots, and lots of support.

Bridgette Madore-Krebs said "Mr. T is awesome!! Go team USA!!" Yeah he is.
