TikToker Calls Out Mother Of Bride Who Dumped Wine On Her Daughter's Dress In 'Targeted Attack'

TikToker Sylvia Gordon turned to the social media platform after her daughter was the victim of a 'targeted attack' by the bride's mother at a wedding in which she knew nobody.

Have you ever gone somewhere new, and you felt like someone instantly didn't like you or they behaved maliciously toward you for no reason?

That was absolutely how Sylvia Gordon's daughter must have been feeling when she attended a wedding with her boyfriend.

Gordon's daughter's boyfriend was invited to the wedding, and her daughter was his plus-one.

Gordon (@themedicarefamily on TikTok) explained that her daughter was unnecessarily targeted at the wedding.

"My daughter went to a wedding where she was the guest, and her boyfriend was the invite. She knows no one there."
"He's a wonderful person. There's nobody that could have a gripe with him. And she's his first girlfriend, so there's no jealousy issues."
"At the wedding, the mother of the bride walks by her with a full glass of wine, dumps it down my daughter's dress, and just keeps walking, doesn't say a word."
"It was obviously a targeted hit. My daughter starts crying, she knows nobody here, she can't have done anything wrong to anybody. And she's also a sweetheart."

But Gordon was even more flabbergasted by how her daughter's boyfriend reacted to the event.

"She's crying, so her boyfriend, that I love, goes, 'It's okay! It's okay'!'"
"She goes, 'No, it's not okay!' And he takes his drink and pours it down the front of him."
"Now this, my friend, is where our generation would have handled it differently. Am I wrong? I'm not condoning violence, but I'm saying my generation would not have poured the drink down our own shirt."
"I'm very confused about this new generation."

Gen X, am I right?

Some TikTokers sided with the boyfriend and felt that his response was adorable and fitting.

But others agreed with Gordon and said they would have reacted very differently.

In a follow-up video, Gordon clarified two important points about her daughter's dress, which also wasn't problematic.

Gordon explained that she had not told her daughter about the video, but someone had sent it to her, and she and her boyfriend watched the video and read all of the comments.

"She and her boyfriend read all the comments, and they said, 'Will you be sure and tell everybody that I was dressed completely appropriately? I had the same style and dress that everybody there did.'"
"Also, her dress was not white. It was very, very gold, like yellow gold, and could never be mistaken as white."

Gordon also pointed out that the bride and groom were incredibly kind, unlike the Mother of the Bride.

"The bride and the groom are also very nice people. My daughter did not know them, but since the wedding, she and her boyfriend have hung out with the bride and groom and gone out to dinner with them many times."
"She also has never mentioned this to them. They have no idea."
"So I don't know if maybe the mom is an alcoholic, but my daughter didn't do anything wrong."

This is a mystery but maybe one day it will come out.

Because some people were skeptical about the appearance of the dress, Gordon shared a third video.

"My daughter's very happy because the vast majority of you support her and her boyfriend for not escalating the situation, not causing a scene at the wedding, and not doing what I would have done and what most of us would have done."
"Now I've had people call me out and say this totally sounds fake. Okay, why would I? I don't care; I don't need clout; I'm an old lady."
"But for clout, for proof, here's a picture of my daughter's dress. Which of course she had to throw away because it was satin."
"The other question you've asked is why are they friends with that couple. They have never told the couple because the couple is nice, and why tell the couple your mom's a psycho? If the mom's a psycho, the daughter probably already knows it."
"Why embarrass them? I think it's very classy for them to sleep on this."
"I'm not classy for sharing it!"

It must be a case of mistaken identity BUT still not a proper way to handle a situation especially at a wedding!

While TikTok was skeptical at first about what Gordon's daughter must have been wearing and what the Mother of the Bride's motivations could have possibly been, they eventually were at least able to say that the daughter was not at fault.

Perhaps the mother of the bride mistook her for someone else, maybe she was color blind and couldn't see the true color of the dress, or maybe it was some other motivation entirely.

But hopefully she was just having a tough day, despite it being one of the happiest days of her daughter's life.
