Meghan McCain Instantly Fact-Checked By Neighbor After Claiming Her Manhattan Neighborhood 'Looks Like A War Zone'

Meghan McCain of The View tweeted that her New York City neighborhood was left "a war zone" after a night of unrest—and one of her neighbors stepped in to immediately set her straight.

In a florid tweet on Tuesday in which she took aim at both New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Meghan was unsparing in her description of how the previous's night's unrest, which saw massive peaceful protests along with widespread looting, had affected her neighborhood.

McCain tweeted:

"My neighborhood in Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone. DeBlasio and Cuomo are an utter disgrace. This is not America. Our leaders have abandoned us and continue to let great American cities burn to the ground and be destroyed."

Kristen Bartlett, who is Co-Head Writer on TBS's Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, is also McCain's neighbor.

She immediately retweeted McCain with a succinct but brutal fact-check.

Looks like Meghan forgot about how millions of people also live in New York City and they also have eyes and many of them also have Twitter accounts with which to report the situation in the city.

McCain previously expressed outrage over the murder of George Floyd, tweeting that he was "murdered in broad daylight" and urging Floyd's family to obtain their own, independent autopsy to counter the seemingly deceptive narrative of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner in Minnesota.

Regarding the latter, McCain tweeted.

"George Floyd's family must demand an independent autopsy. I don't know what kind of sh*t is attempting to be pulled here but we all know what we saw happen to George on video..."

But McCain also has a history of denigrating the social justice efforts of Black Americans, such as her characterization of NFL player Colin Kaepernick's "taking a knee" protest as disrespectful to both the flag and America in 2018.

On Twitter, her fellow New Yorkers had several laughs at her expense.

So remember everyone, if you're going to lie on Twitter, at least make it something not easily fact-checked by other people's eyeballs.

RFK Jr. Admits That Banning Fluoridated Water Will Cause 'More Cavities'—But He's OK With That

Health and Human Services Secretary (HHS) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was criticized after admitting in a Fox News interview with Harris Faulkner that his proposed fluoridated water ban would likely lead people to have more cavities—but defended the move nonetheless.

While fluoride is not federally mandated in drinking water, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had long recommended its inclusion. Fluoride helps prevent cavities by strengthening enamel, and numerous studies have shown that fluoridated water reduces tooth decay in both children and adults.

Jesse Watters Dragged After Trying To Give Mamdani A Scary Nickname That's Actually Kind Of Epic

Fox News personality Jesse Watters was widely mocked after he tried to give New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani a scary nickname in the vein of Conan the Destroyer—only for it to backfire considerably.

Watters is the latest member of the GOP to lash out at Mamdani, a democratic socialist who handily defeated former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in New York City's Democratic mayoral primary last week.

MAGA Rep Slammed After Calling For Mamdani To Be Stripped Of His Citizenship And Deported Over Rap Lyric

Tennessee Republican Andy Ogles was called out after he shared a letter he sent to Attorney General Pam Bondi urging her to denaturalize and deport New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani over a lyric in a rap song Mamdani released in 2017.

Mamdani ran a campaign centered around economic populism, arguing that the city, a global financial center, has grown unaffordable for everyday residents, citing soaring rents and grocery prices, and outlining policies aimed at reducing the cost of living.
