It was no secret that the late actress Margot Kidder had her fair share of struggles. Now her daughter is setting the record straight so the truth can be told.

Kidder's recent passing may have been a shock to some but her daughter Maggie McGuane wasn't surprised, She told the Associated Press she knew immediately that her mother had committed suicide even though previous statements said the Lois Lane actress died peacefully in her sleep.

Now McGuane is just happy the truth is out. Her mother died of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose. McGuane said about the findings:

It's a big relief that the truth is out there. It's important to be open and honest so there's not a cloud of shame in dealing with this. It's a very unique sort of grief and pain knowing how many families in this state go through this, I wish that I could reach out to each one of them.

The last years of Kidder's life show a woman struggling. In the past two years, the police have been called to her home over 40 times for trespassing, theft, and other disturbances. In addition, an ambulance had been called to her home five times over a seven month period.

People are still coming to terms with the loss.

McGuane's message about removing the cloud of shame was not lost on folks.

Rest in Peace Margot Kidder.

Ann Coulter Faces Fierce Backlash After Saying 'We Didn't Kill Enough Indians' In Deleted Post

Far-right provocateur Ann Coulter is facing fierce criticism after she made a genocidal remark in a now-deleted post on X in response to University of Minnesota professor and Navajo Nation member Melanie Yazzie's speech about colonization.

Yazzie, in a speech at last year's annual Socialism Conference, said "decolonization is the only thing that is going to save us as a species" during a panel hosted by Red Nation, a Native American nonprofit that advocates for Palestinian and Native American rights. She also said that the United States is the "greatest predator empire that has ever existed" and said it should be dismantled.
