Olympic alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn is one of the best downhill and Super-G skiers who has accomplished many achievements. She is one of two women who won four World Cup overall championships. She won the gold medal for downhill skiing in the 2010 Winter Olympics, and she is also a 20th World Cup crystal globe title winner.

Now she could add another accomplishment to her list: shutting down a troll on Twitter.

Vonn continued her winning streak when she responded to a mean-spirited troll who mistook her for a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.

Though Vonn confronted the misrepresented criticism through good sportsmanship and with a sense of humor, Twitter wanted the snarky troll to suffer the consequences for taking an unprovoked aim at Vonn in the first place. So, a mockery of the failed tweet ensued.

On Tuesday, Twitter-user @sm00_smith tweeted Vonn as she was preparing to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeonChang, "@lindseyvonn Loved the way you were unable to take criticism on Dancing With The Stars! I know it must have been a real learning experience."

Nice try, but the skiing champion was never seen cutting a rug on national television.

How unfortunate.Giphy

The push back from the unprovoked criticism came quickly.

Ouch!

The tweet made Vonn chuckle, and she promptly responded back to set the record straight, like a true champion.

"I'm sorry this made me laugh," she said. "I was never on Dancing with the Stars, but thanks for the criticism none the less. high fives buddy."

Fans appreciated Vonn's playful retort, and they added to the response with the #ThingsLindseyDidntDo hashtag to lay into the troll.

Someone found the footage on which the judges' criticisms were based.

Why attack her in the first place?

@sm00_smith's personal description simply reads, "Texas deplorable." For some, no further explanation was necessary.

These are a few of my favorite tweets.

The bombs bursting in air.

The performance elicited some howls.

She got vocal.

We can all just shake it off at the bunny slope.

These responses were worth the fumble.

This hashtag campaign is outta this world.

Who knew that a criticism on Twitter would go downhill faster than a skiing gold medalist? Go for the gold, Lindsey! High fives!
