LGBTQ+ People Are Hilariously Sharing The Fictional Characters They'd Come Out To—And, Same

Coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community is no laughing matter... except when it is.

A new meme has taken the internet by storm as LGBTQ+ folks share the fictional characters they'd come out to without hesitation—and it's both hilarious and deeply relatable.

From cartoon characters, like Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus, to beloved television icons to animated tree branches, the list of people's ideal coming out confidantes goes on and on.

Though times have certainly—thankfully—progressed and coming out perhaps isn't the terrifying experience it used to be, it's still a fraught experience even for people living in the most supportive environments. First, of course, LGBTQ+ people must come out to themselves—a herculean task for many in and of itself.

As if that weren't enough, one then has to work up the courage to tell someone else, and so much energy goes into just that simple act—weighing out the potential responses you'll get and, especially if you're still a young person, what repercussions might crop up after the big news is shared.

It's a lot of pressure, even in the most progressive environments! So it's only natural to sort of fantasize about the "perfect" person to come out to. There are just certain people out there you just know would be cool about it, right?

Like Nanny Fran from the '90s sitcom The Nanny. She seems like she probably has tons of gay friends, right? She'd get it!

Or, say, E.T. After all, the little guy did flawless drag, so if he doesn't understand the whole LGBTQ+ thing who else would?

Or like—okay, hear us out: Don't you kind of get queer vibes from Grandma Willow from Pocahontas? Like be real, Grandma Willow is a wise elderly lesbian tree right?

She gets it, you know?

Once you start thinking about it, there are scores of fictional characters who give off LGBTQ-affirming energy—and Twitter has had a field day listing basically every single one of them.

We may not all have supportive families to come out to, but we do all have Miss Piggy and the mom from The Sixth Sense who accept us, and that's just beautiful.

Trump Dragged After Making Outrageous Comparison To Zohran Mamdani In Viral Clip

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he asserted during a 60 Minutes interview with Norah O'Donnell that he's "much better-looking" than New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—a claim that not a soul is taking seriously.

Trump isn't exactly known to be a looker but he has nonetheless declared himself a "perfect physical specimen" and boasted about his physical prowess, once noting that his own White House physician had declared him "healthier than Obama"—despite Trump's distaste for exercise and fondness for fast food.
