Arguably, one of the accomplishments of the Trump administration was the signing of the Abraham Accords by multiple Arab-majority nations. These deals were to lead to these nations normalizing relations with Israel.

The Trump designated point man of the Abraham Accords was White House adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

However, these deals were not without controversy. Some called them 'normalization for weapons' deals, since the price tag for normalization was often U.S. arms sales to countries that agreed to sign.

Additionally, the model of mid-East peace was always based on a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with the promise of Arab-world normalization being an important carrot for the Israeli government.

The Abraham Accords cut the Palestinian people out entirely and removed a traditionally important lever of diplomatic power in pursuit of a solution.

However, this did not stop former lawyer for Donald Trump, Alan Dershowitz, from nominating Jared Kushner and his negotiating partner, Avi Berkowitz for a Nobel Peace Prize.

But as The Washington Post stated, "while a Nobel Peace Prize nomination is a bit trickier than simply sending a guy in Norway a postcard with someone's name on it, it's not much trickier than that."

Of course, jokes were had.

Many felt others were more deserving.

And many felt this nomination was an affront.

Thousands of people are nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize every year.

Whether Kushner manages to snag it remains to be seen.
