It's comforting to be reminded every once in awhile that celebrities really are just doing their best, like the rest of us.

And parenting is constantly difficult, as Kristen Bell experienced firsthand when her daughter made a very bold choice in haircare.

"My daughter just washed her hair with vaseline.....and I can't get it out...." a very stressed out Kristen Bell told her Instagram followers on her story.

"I've washed it now three times. And I can't get it out," she continues, looking resigned.

Luckily, the internet has probably already encountered what you're struggling with.

People rose to the occasion.

Petroleum jelly, which is what vaseline is made from, is mainly comprised of heavy mineral oils and wax.

Dawn dish soap, the number one suggestion by followers, is an oil dispersant, which breaks down the tension between oil and water, allowing the oil to break away from itself and be washed away.

This isn't the first time a famous child has gotten vaseline in their hair.

Savannah Guthrie found herself in a similar situation in 2017.

And the suggested help seemed to work for her.

Bell, too, seemed to have some success.

"Okay, the consensus was dish soap and I appreciate that," she said in her final Insta story video.

"I'm very grateful for you guys, 'cause I don't know what I'm doing."

Isn't that refreshing to hear?
