GOP Rep.'s Rant About Trump Trial Gets Overshadowed By His Own Son In Hilarious Viral Video

GOP Rep. John Rose gave a floor speech on Monday condemning the ex-President's trial and subsequent guilty verdicts—but viewers were too distracted by his son, Guy, making faces behind him to care.

Tennessee Republican Representative John Rose's recent floor speech condemning former President Donald Trump's hush money trial and subsequent guilty verdict was ultimately overshadowed by his young son, Guy, who was busy making goofy faces behind him.

Rose's speech came just days after Trump became the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes. A New York jury last week found him guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels to illegally influence the 2016 election. His sentencing is set for July 11.

Addressing House Speaker Mike Johnson, Rose said:

"I rise today to address the terrible precedent set in our country four days ago."
"Using the justice system to engage in a politically driven prosecution and now conviction of a major political party nominee running for president, especially on the charges brought against Donald Trump, should gravely concern every member of this body, as well as every American across our country."

But people in the House chamber were more fixated on young Guy, who was caught on video smiling, making goofy faces, and even sticking his tongue out during his father's speech.

You can watch the moment in the video below

Many found the moment hilarious and offered up some snarky commentary.

After the video went viral on X, formerly Twitter, Rose posted a message of his own with the following response:

"This is what I get for telling my son Guy to smile at the camera for his little brother."

You can see his post below.

It was clear young Guy suddenly had a fan base.

According to The New York Times, Guy did more than just make funny faces—he actually "added a prop to his performance, reaching for a stress ball he had in his pocket."

One thing is certain: Rose has a jokester on his hands who might want to consider a career in comedy.

Even Trump's NASA Director Had To Set Kim Kardashian Straight After She Said The Moon Landing 'Didn't Happen'

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy—who is also NASA's Acting Administrator—issued the weirdest fact-check ever when he corrected reality star Kim Kardashian after she revealed herself to be a moon landing conspiracist.

Conspiracy theorists have long alleged the moon landing was fabricated by NASA in what they claim was an elaborate hoax—and Kardashian certainly made it clear where she stands in a video speaking to co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of the new Hulu drama All’s Fair.

Special Olympics Fires Back At Kid Rock With Powerful Statement After He Used 'The R-Word' To Describe Halloween Costume

MAGA singer Kid Rock was called out by Loretta Claiborne, the Chief Inspiration Officer of the Special Olympics, after he used the "r-word"—a known ableist slur—to describe his Halloween costume this year.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters when he donned a face mask and said he'd be going as a "r**ard" for Halloween. Watters had guessed he was dressed as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who spearheaded the nation's COVID-19 pandemic response.
