Game of Thrones. It seems like a nearly universal obsession among internet denizens, and any information about new episodes is sure to draw hype. So when a five second clip dropped during the Golden Globes, the colossal reaction from fans was no surprise.

The show is an international sensation, millions of fans enjoy the larger-than-life stories of the characters as well as the focus on political intrigue and stories within stories. Based on the series A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin, the show's complicated alliances and betrayals, both personal and political, have kept fans engrossed for the last eight years.

There isn't much that can be seen in the 5 second clip, but that wasn't enough to stop fans from geeking out and speculating about what is coming (besides winter).

Reactions were a combination of utter excitement and intense speculation, with anticipation seeming to be the universal feeling.

Even a notable HBO competitor is excited.

The five second scene depicts a brief but significant interaction between Sansa Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow.

The small details that fans noticed were astounding.

There's just over three months until Game of Thrones Season 8's April 2019 release date, so we'll know what happens soon. Not soon enough for most fans, though.
