President-elect Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump in the 2020 election, but the President is still refusing to accept these results.
In addition to a near-constant stream of lies and disinformation on Twitter alleging that widespread voter fraud orchestrated by Democrats tipped the race to Biden, the Trump campaign has filed dozens of lawsuits in multiple states in a long shot attempt to overturn the results.
With at least 29 of these cases being dismissed or otherwise lost, the Trump campaign is now suing state electors, who cast votes on behalf of their state in the Electoral College.
One of these suits is against former Clark County, Nevada Democratic Party chair Gabrielle d'Ayr—a veteran who's struggling with homelessness.
The lawsuit, which the Trump campaign filed jointly with the Nevada Republican Party, seeks to invalidate thousands of votes by annulling the state's election results or awarding its six electoral votes to Trump, despite Biden's 30+ thousand vote victory in the state.
D'Ayr reacted on Twitter to the news that she's listed as a defendant in the lawsuit.
I have just been informed that the Trump campaign has filed a lawsuit against me as an elector for the state of Nevada. Me a homeless veteran who is nonetheless continuing to do her duty to the American people

.@realDonaldTrump I am an elector for the state of Nevada. I am a United States Navy veteran and I am homeless. You're suing me, an individual, for faithfully serving the people of Nevada. Whatever you think you've got, bring it. You will not win. You're a coward.

Consistent with his brand of superficial patriotism, Trump claims to adore the nation's veterans. He famously dodged the draft multiple times during the Vietnam War, citing bone spurs in his feet. He continues to falsely claim that he passed the Veterans' Choice program, which expanded healthcare options for veterans. In reality, this was signed into law by former President Barack Obama in 2014.
Thanks to d'Ayr, the Trump campaign's contempt for anyone lawfully assisting Joe Biden on his road to the White House was laid bare.
Donald Trump is now targeting electors with baseless, frivolous lawsuits for doing their sworn duty.
Because he doesn't believe in American democracy. https://t.co/1bvZ5bJOtg

Trump is suing electors now. Including disabled veterans. What more does this man need to show the 72 million MAGA people and Republican elected officials for them to get off this runaway train that's threatening to wreck our democracy?? He doesn't care about any of you. https://t.co/OETTxb8jEJ

D'Ayr's counsel is moving to have the case dismissed. Until then, she's set up a GoFundMe to help her find secure housing and assist the 50 thousand homeless veterans across the nation.
