President Trump bashed musician John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, on Twitter after Legend appeared on an MSNBC criminal justice reform town hall Sunday night.

Trump was apparently peeved that Legend didn't give him enough credit for his part in reforming the criminal justice system.

On Sunday night following the televised town hall, Trump took to Twitter to rant about people like "boring musician" Legend and his "filthy mouthed wife" Teigen talking about how great the criminal justice reform is without crediting him for The First Step Act, which Trump signed into law in April.




Also attacking MSNBC town hall moderator Lester Holt, Trump failed to realize that Holt did, in fact, give Trump credit for passing reform in the Dateline episode that led up to the town hall, as well as showing footage of Trump signing the bill in the Oval Office and adding that it was "projected to reduce the sentences of thousands of non-violent offenders in federal prisons."

Both Legend and Teigen responded by slamming Trump, with Legend calling out Trump's blatant narcissism for needing praise in the first place.

Legend also called on First Lady Melania Trump to do something about it.

Teigen was less diplomatic in her response, giving Trump a nickname for the ages to live up to her "foul-mouthed" moniker.

Twitter couldn't believe what was happening, so naturally they made #PresidentP*ssyA**B*tch trend.

Many weighed in on just how absurd the whole thing was.





Sherrilyn Ifill, the President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDP) weighed in with an insightful Twitter thread breaking down exactly who should be getting credit for criminal justice reform. (Hint: It's not Donald Trump.)








Ifill also praised Legend and other advocates for what they've been doing to help reform the criminal justice system.

And put President Trump in his place.
