The actor decided to focus on a happier event of the day involving his son.

After three seasons of laughs and some heartbreak, it's the end of an era for Call Me Kat.

The show finished wrapping its finale of the latest season last week. Within a day it was confirmed by Fox it would not be picking the series up for another season.

One of the show's stars, Cheyenne Jackson, took to Instagram to reflect on the wrap before Fox made their announcement. In a video of stills from the first three seasons, Jackson shared his gratitude for his time on the show and the relationships made because of it.

He captioned the post:

"Tonight is our season 3 finale and maybe our series finale. We don't know yet."
"But whatever the future brings, these past three years of making 50+ episodes of @callmekatfox are something I'll never forget and I will cherish the memories I've made and the friendships I've gained."

Once Fox confirmed the cancellation, Jackson shared another post on Instagram, sharing the tough news but focusing on the day's win thanks to his son.

He shared a photo of him holding his son Ethan with the caption:

"Yes, the guy on the right just had his sitcom cancelled, but the guy on the left just learned how to tie double shoelace knots..."
"So... the day is not completely terrible."

Many on social media expressed their shared disappointment in the cancellation but also applauded Jackson for a job well done.

Man Goes Viral After 3D-Printing A 6-Pound Phone Case To Combat Screen Addiction

Many Millennials will remember back in the nineties as the last of the "latchkey kids" who were prominently babysat by their televisions, and the commercials that rolled out, made popular on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, promoting kids to go play outside instead of watching TV all day.

Now in 2025, videos on Instagram and TikTok encouraging people to "pause their scroll" and to "put down their phones" are becoming more common and popular, because people are realizing how detrimental our increasing screen time is to our emotional, physical, and psychological health.

There's an old saying that goes, "It costs nothing to be kind."

Smiling at a stranger, saying hi back to a young and socialable child, holding a door for someone, and maybe even exchanging a pleasantry or two at the checkout line costs nothing more than a few words passing our lips and showing a little kindness.
