Beyoncé is being praised for her handling of a reporter's leading question during a 2007 interview as Spears publicly struggled and became a popular punchline.

People online are praising Beyoncé for refusing to shade Britney Spears during a 2007 interview with 60 Minutes Australia.

A resurfaced clip has been making its way around social media showing Beyoncé refusing to take the reporter's bait after he called the "Toxic" singer a "disaster."

In 2007, Spears became the topic of many conversations and the punchline of seemingly endless jokes at her expense after going through a breakdown in the public eye, the culmination of checking into rehab several times, shaving her head in front of the paparazzi, attacking a photographer with an umbrella and losing custody of her children.

While it seemed at the time that the world was against Spears, Beyoncé had her back.

The resurfaced video begins with Beyoncé telling interviewer Liam Bartlett:

“I’m 25, and if I really wanted to, I could still be a young woman and do something completely different and have a whole new career, and still have, hopefully, my whole life ahead of me.”

Bartlett then steered the conversation to Spears:

“But you could say the same thing about someone like Britney Spears."
Beyoncé replied:
"Absolutely."
Bartlett continued:
“There’s only three months between you and Britney."

Again she replied:

"Absolutely."

Bartlett then referred to the "...Baby One More Time" singer as "a complete disaster."

“And look at the difference. A complete disaster.”

But Beyoncé wasn't biting and instead expressed her gratitude that she's surrounded with support.

“I mean, people handle different things differently, and thank god I’ve been surrounded by honesty. And thank god I’ve chosen to still be around people that I trust — and it’s really difficult, when you’re a celebrity, to know the difference.”

You can watch the clip below.

It didn't take long before the video gained traction, and viewers applauded Beyoncé for "not falling into the trap" and handling the situation "gracefully."

After her very public breakdown, Spears was placed under a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008.

Her father Jamie Spears served as her conservator for a majority of the arrangement which was dissolved only two years ago in November 2021.

The singer goes into further detail about the conservatorship in her new memoir The Woman in Me.

Hillary Clinton Just Threw Some Epic Shade At Trump Over His Push To Print $250 Bills Featuring His Portrait

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mocked President Donald Trump following a report he approved a proposed design featuring his portrait on a new $250 bill bearing his signature, despite longstanding federal law barring living people from appearing on U.S. currency.

According to four current and former Treasury Department employees who spoke to the Post anonymously out of fear of retaliation, two political appointees at the department—U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and senior adviser Mike Brown—repeatedly pressed Bureau of Engraving and Printing staff beginning last year to develop prototype designs for the bill.
