The talk show host came out on the final day of Pride in a hilarious and touching Instagram post, to the delight of her fans.

Comedian writer and actor Amber Ruffin came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community on the last day of Pride in a humorous Instagram post.

Ruffin began her extensive career in TV comedy in 2014 as a writer for Late Night with Seth Meyers, making her the first Black woman writer in a late-night network talk show.

On Monday, the host of her eponymous talk show, The Amber Ruffin Show, wrote:

"In what will come as a shock to exactly zero people, I’m using the last day of PRIDE to come out!"
"Be proud of who you are, little babies! I know I am!"

She cheekily added:

"And I can’t wait to be discriminated against for a new reason!! 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈"

The 45-year-old comedian accompanied her prideful declaration with a carousel of photos.

The first image was of her smiling and wearing a purple tank top with the words "Queer," followed by photos of her attending a Mets game and being a part of New York City's Pride parade.

Her sister Lacey also beamed with Pride in the comments, writing:

"That's my baby sis, Happy Pride!!!!!"

Ruffin is also known for her work in theater.

In 2021, she co-wrote the Some Like It Hot musical adaptation, for which she was nominated for a Best Book of a Musical Tony Award.

She also updated the book for the Broadway musical The Wiz.

Ruffin and her sister Lacey Lamar co-authored a book published in January 2021 that landed on the New York Times Best Seller list, called You'll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism.

Ruffin divorced Dutch artist Jan Schiltmeijer in 2023 after 13 years of marriage.

Trump Ripped After Forcing National Parks To Drop Free Entry On MLK Day And Juneteenth For Infuriating Reason

President Donald Trump was criticized after the National Park Service announced it will be dropping Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth for next year's calendar of free-entry days and adding Trump's birthday, which happens to fall on Flag Day, on June 14.

Last month, the Department of the Interior unveiled changes to what it now calls its “resident-only patriotic fee-free days,” expanding the calendar to include new dates like the Fourth of July weekend and President Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday, while dropping others that had honored the department itself, including the Bureau of Land Management’s anniversary.
