Elon Musk is known for inventing the ultra-fast, battery-powered Tesla. He is also known as the CEO and Lead Designer of SpaceX, and now he is known for taking a hit of a spliff.

The inventor was recently a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience. The episode featuring Musk was video recorded and broadcast live. During the episode, host Joe Rogan encouraged Musk to take a hit of a spliff (marijuana mixed with tobacco).

Check out a the clip below.

As Rogan is smoking, he can be heard asking Musk,

"You probably can't because stock holders, right?"

Musk replied with,

"I mean, it's legal, right?"

After Rogan assures him it is "totally legal", Musk takes the joint, examines it, sniffs it, and finally takes one hit. His facial expression afterward looks as though the drugs had no effect on him.

Rogan's speculation about the incident affecting stockholders was not so far off. Tesla has since seen a drop in its stocks.

But more importantly, the escapade could have a negative impact on Musk's relationship with the U.S. Air Force.

SpaceX has contracts with the Air Force, and people with security clearances are prohibited from indulging in the drug.

A spokesperson from the Air Force spoke out about the situation with Musk.

"It's inaccurate that there is an investigation. We'll need time to determine the facts and the appropriate process to handle the situation."

Some people worry the stunt could mean the end of SpaceX.

Others think it's absurd that the hit is even an issue.

But others feel as though the Air Force will turn a blind eye.

"Blowing #Tesla billionaire under the microscope of US Airforce, because drug use bans. Well, he will get away with it. They need his SpaceX rockets."

At least Elon was blunt about what he was doing.
