Martinet has one of the most recognizable voices in the world.

Charles Martinet is the voice of Mario. Yes, that Mario, of the Super Mario Brothers video game franchise. Since the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he is also now the Guinness World Record holder for the most video game performances of a single character. The latest Nintendo release marked his 100th time voicing the iconic plumber.

Martinet posted this video about the honor this past Friday.

Martinet says...

"So it's a great day today. I'm here at Guinness World Records, and I have a Guinness World Record! Look at this! There's the closet there. You can see me in there as the most voice-overs as a video game character. 100 with Smash Brothers Ultimate."

Martinet first gave his voice to the character in 1992's Mario Teaches Typing and the Super Mario Bros. pinball game. The 63-year-old voice actor has also leant his voice to other Mario Brothers characters such as Luigi, Wario, and Toadsworth.

People offered their congratulations.

People were surprised he was only just breaking the record.

But most were simply excited for him.

Congrats Charles! And here's to many more performances.

Trump made headlines this week after admonishing Israel and Iran for violating a ceasefire agreement he'd announced on Truth Social. Although he claimed the ceasefire had been "agreed upon," Iran fired at least six missile barrages at Israel after it was supposed to take effect.

State Department Slammed After Requiring Visa Applicants To Make All Social Media Posts Public For Vetting

The State Department is facing harsh criticism after it announced that anyone applying for an F, M, or J nonimmigrant visa will need to disclose all social media profiles from the last five years, requiring that all applicants set their posts to public so they can be properly vetted by its agents.

The agency said the new rules are part of a new screening process aimed at identifying individuals who may pose a threat to U.S. national security. According to the department, failure to comply could result in a denial, and consular officers have been instructed to flag signs of “hostility” toward the U.S.—though the criteria for such determinations remain vague.
