On Friday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sarah Hyland of Modern Family revealed the struggles she's been going through the past few years.

The actress, who plays Haley Dunphy in the ABC hit series, sat down with Ellen to discuss her health issues.

The now 28-year-old discussed her struggles with kidney dysplasia and endometriosis and the tolls the conditions took on her physical and mental health.

She went on to admit that she had struggled with suicidal thoughts.

"At the time I was 26, but after 26, 27 years of just always being sick and being in chronic pain every single day and you don't know when you're going to have the next good day, it's really, really hard."

She continued to tell Ellen just how serious her dark thoughts were.

"I would write letters in my head to loved ones of why I did it and my reasoning behind it, how it was nobody's fault. I didn't want to write it down on paper because I didn't want anybody to find it. That's how serious I was."

This is not the first time the actress has opened up about her struggles with mental health.

At the end of last year, Sarah told Self about her kidney transplants.

Hyland received her first kidney transplant from her father in 2012. In the fall of 2016, her body began rejecting the organ.

After going on dialysis, her brother Ian stepped up to donate one of his kidneys.

He said,

"When Sarah first told me that she would need a second transplant, the initial wave of fear was washed over by a sense of resolution. I only cared about Sarah knowing that I had her back and that she was going to be OK."

Sarah didn't have the same sense of resolution.

After her first transplant was rejected and she was looking at getting a second transplant, her mental health began to waver.

"I was very depressed. When a family member gives you a second chance at life, and it fails, it almost feels like it's your fault. It's not. But it does."

Sarah's bravery to talk about her struggles has inspired people everywhere.

Thank you for your bravery, Sarah! We wish you health and happiness.

'Will & Grace' Actor Brutally Drags Trump's Venezuela Takeover With Mock Regime Change In His Own Neighborhood

As the world now knows, on the morning of Saturday, January, 3, 2026, under the direction of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump and his Secretary of "War" Pete Hegseth, the United States military invaded the sovereign nation of Venezuela using 150 aircraft to abduct Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.

The nation, along with international allies and adversaries, have been weighing in on the action and the Trump administration's attempts to justify it. Trump, Hegseth, and their mouthpieces claim the uninvited intervention in another sovereign nation's internal affairs was about justice and drug trafficking while the international community and Trump's opposition in the U.S. say it was about oil.
