Wait, what?

Conservative blogger and professional sycophant Jacob Wohl celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by tweeting that Dr. King would have been a Trump supporter.

(One can only assume that he meant "never forget that" instead of "never for that" — although the latter is definitely more accurate.)

Wohl followed his asinine assertion by claiming that "the Democrat party is the party of the KKK" and saying that Democrats "hunted down and taunted" King.

Despite the oft-repeated claim that Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican, Dr. King never endorsed a political party, nor did he claim persecution by the Democrats. He did, however, have this to say about the 1964 Republican National Convention:

"The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism. All people of goodwill viewed with alarm and concern the frenzied wedding at the Cow Palace of the KKK with the radical right."

King's eldest son, Martin Luther King III, spoke eloquently about Trump — but it wasn't in support.

“We got to find a way to work on this man’s heart. George Wallace was a staunch racist and we worked on his heart and ultimately George Wallace transformed.”

Wohl, who famously tried to frame Robert Mueller for sexual misconduct, is an outspoken Trump supporter and conspiracy theorist. He's also a former hedge fund manager accused of defrauding investors, who was banned for life by the National Futures Association.

Trump Issues Unhinged Ultimatum To Fox News After They Interview Democratic Senator About Healthcare

President Donald Trump slammed Fox News after Fox White House correspondent Peter Doocy interviewed Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly about the government shutdown and healthcare, telling the conservative network to "get on board, or get off board, NOW."

The federal government shut down last week after the White House and Congress failed to reach an agreement on federal spending. While Senate Democrats are in the minority, they hold enough seats to filibuster and are insisting that Republicans agree to extend federal subsidies for people insured under the Affordable Care Act.
