Not all Americans tote guns everywhere.

The French don't all sit around eating baguettes and being obnoxious 24/7.

And believe it or not, not all British people drink tea (and coffee consumption is on the rise).

But believe it or not, certain stereotypes persist, so Redditor trullyrose gave the online community a chance to vent when they asked, "What stereotype of your country you hate the most?"

"Not all of us are drug lords..."

Not all of us are drug lords, not all of us are murderers, not all of us work in the cocaine business. No, we are not living in a horrible cartel war, we are not living in that sort of anarchy Narcos presents. We are more than the legacy of PABLO ESCOBAR. THAT WAS 20-30 YEARS AGO. Colombia is a totally different place, it has recovered. Especially Medellin.

"Also the first people to live here..."

Giphy

We do not cook shrimp on the barbie, because we call them prawns.

Also the first people to live here weren't convicts, they were the indigenous people, who are among the oldest cultures in the world.

"Take a few days..."

Romanians are not gypsies and Romania is not some forsaken Eastern European ex-communist land with nothing but dilapidated buildings and beggars. So much of it is worthy of whatever bucket list you have going for yourself. We have beautiful places and beautiful people. We have a rich history, amazing traditions, gorgeous landscapes. We are amazing hosts who will happily welcome you with open arms, ready to offer you a drink and some delicious food. We work hard to show the world who we truly are. Take a few days of your wonderful life to come and meet us, come and hear our true story and tell the world about us.

"I hate how ever since Trump has gotten elected..."

I hate how ever since Trump has gotten elected Americans get a bad rep abroad. Every time I go to another country, and you say you're American, people chuckle or make a snide little joke about Trump like half the time. We're not all Trump supporters and in fact most of us don't like him either.

"Everyone here..."

Everyone here randomly plays football all the time, loves carnaval to death and every woman has a pornstar body. Brazil is way more than that.

"It's annoying..."

That the British have bad teeth. It's annoying because it's just not true. The UK has universal dental coverage for up until 18, higher rates of dental hygiene and lower rates of tooth decay than America does. And you walk around any part of America outside an upscale suburb and its obvious there are lots of people with bad teeth. But apparently most Americans base their views on the fact Brits have normal people on their TV, rather than bleacher-haired plastic surgery bimbos.

"I don't think..."

People still think we're a bunch of Nazis... I don't think people realise that us Germans don't actually support anything that happened.

"People making car bomb jokes..."

People making car bomb jokes knowing nothing about Irish history. Sure the IRA were flat out terrorists after we got independence, but before and during the fight for it, they were vital to get freedom.

"It's all a facade."

How polite we are. It's all a facade. Canada is filled of mean people just like the rest of the world. Go check out any Facebook thread or r/Canada thread about Native Americans, Syrians, Trump or Alberta and you will see what I mean.
