Republicans Mocked on Twitter for Trying to Use Biden's Press Conference Joke Against Him

Since the start of his 2020 campaign, Republican politicos have smeared now-President Joe Biden as being an establishment politician whose mental faculties are insufficient to meet the pressures of the Oval Office.

On Thursday, Biden held a press conference where he answered questions for more than an hour on topics ranging from immigration to China to the Senate filibuster and the 60 vote threshold it imposes on most legislation.

In discussing the filibuster, Biden floated ways to reform it by reverting to the way it was when he first became a Senator, in 1973. He made a self-deprecating joke in the process.

Watch below.

The President said:

"I believe we should go back to the position of the filibuster that existed just when I came to the United States Senate 120 years ago."

A frequent Republican talking point is that Biden was in the Senate for 47 years, without—they claim—getting anything done. This is what Biden was alluding to when he joked that he'd first been sworn in 120 years ago. He made a similar quip on the campaign trail in September of last year.

In response, Republican social media users pounced on the President and leapt to point to his words as an example of his supposed senility.

But their attempts at slamming Biden turned into more self-owns.

Video of the full press conference is available here.

Trump Dragged After Making Outrageous Comparison To Zohran Mamdani In Viral Clip

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he asserted during a 60 Minutes interview with Norah O'Donnell that he's "much better-looking" than New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—a claim that not a soul is taking seriously.

Trump isn't exactly known to be a looker but he has nonetheless declared himself a "perfect physical specimen" and boasted about his physical prowess, once noting that his own White House physician had declared him "healthier than Obama"—despite Trump's distaste for exercise and fondness for fast food.

Trump shared an update about ongoing renovations aboard Air Force One while en route to Florida for the weekend, even as the federal government remains shut down and his administration continues to refuse to release all of the emergency funds to sustain SNAP food assistance benefits through November.
