People Explain How They Got Their Most Prominent Scar

Make us preferred on Google

Some years ago I met a man who had a scar running down his face, one clean line that had long since healed but that was still rather noticeable. He explained to those in his company that he'd been scarred defending a woman during a bar fight.

Considering how badly those can go, he's lucky he's alive. That could have gone so much worse than it did. He's accepted the scar and hey, it did make for a good story.

All scars have stories behind them. Some people shared their stories with us after Redditor JigglezPlayz asked the online community,

"How did you get your scar?"

"I fell in the shower..."

"I fell in the shower while dancing. Now I have a titanium plate."

Sighfaint

That's pretty metal, just saying.

Too soon?

"My sister..."

"My sister blindfolded me and led me into a desk corner."

Qwertythecoolone

Ouch! This is why I always prefer to be aware of all of my surroundings.

"My brother..."

"My brother blindfolded me and made me touch a hot iron."

GlassCrow123

Ouch! What is up with all of your siblings?!

"I was cutting wood..."

"I was cutting wood with a chainsaw and it touched my leg. I wasn’t wearing safety chaps."

[deleted]

It sounds like you've learned your lesson. Ouch. Hope you're feeling better.

"They cut..."

"They cut a mole out. Oops, that one's cancerous, better go deeper!"

[deleted]

Ouch! Hopefully you're cancer free!

"Sliced through..."

"Cut my index finger with a brand new Leatherman. Sliced right through the skin and into the bone."

homevp

I cringed so horribly reading this.

"I was wrong..."

"My ex girlfriend accidentally stabbed me in my arm. I was wrong to jumpscare the hell out of her while she was cutting onions."

Last-Level5126

She sounds like the person you want by your side for the zombie apocalypse, though!

"Got my thyroid removed..."

"Got my thyroid removed... looks like someone tried to slit my throat, unfortunately."

Neph88

I've seen some gnarly thyroid removal scars. Glad you're still with us.

"I got shot..."

"I got shot in the abdomen."

[deleted]

Scary! Glad you've since recovered. Gunshot wounds are no joke.

"I tried to..."

"I tried to run elegantly headfirst through a glass door."

MyShrinkWentBananas

People think it'll be like the movies and... they're so wrong. You don't just walk away from that.

It's been said that scars are just tattoos with better stories but to be honest, given the choice, I think I'd stick with tattoos.

Ted Cruz Dragged After Reviving Classic Republican Scare Tactic With Wild Claim About What Progressive Democrats Want To Do

Speaking about how progressive Democrats have received a boost after Abdul El-Sayed won Michigan's U.S. Senate primary, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz claimed Democrats are "crazy enough" to "cancel" Thanksgiving and Christmas.

El-Sayed, a physician who campaigned on expanding healthcare access, strengthening the economy, and ending unconditional U.S. military aid to Israel, became the first progressive to win a statewide primary in a state carried by President Donald Trump in the 2024 election. He is set to face former Republican Congressman Mike Rogers in November.

Trump Blasted After Posting AI Photo Of Himself In Military Uniform With Medals He Never Earned

President Donald Trump, who has never served in the U.S. military, has now sparked accusations of "stolen valor" after sharing an A.I.-generated image of himself in a military uniform alongside General George S. Patton and General Douglas MacArthur, complete with a slew of medals he never earned.

Trump posted the image at 6:14 PM Eastern Time on Truth Social with no additional comment. Patton and McArthur are shown with a lower rank and fewer decorations than Trump. In reality, Patton held the rank of four-star general, while MacArthur was one of only nine Americans to achieve the rank of five-star general.

Pete Hegseth Slammed After Military Test Of GPS Jammer Now Suspected Of Contributing To Fatal Medical Plane Crash

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is facing criticism after a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found that military GPS jamming from the White Sands Missile Range was active when a medical evacuation aircraft crashed into a mountain ridge in New Mexico in May, killing all four people aboard.

Investigators said the Beechcraft C-90 air ambulance crashed into the Capitan Mountains near Ruidoso shortly after midnight on May 14 while flying from Roswell to pick up a patient. The accident killed both pilots and two flight nurses and sparked a wildfire that burned tens of thousands of acres before firefighters brought it under control.

Anya Taylor-Joy Sparks Debate After Giving Her Take On Why You Don't See As Many Female Method Actors

Method acting has long been associated with actors who stay in character on and off set, but Anya Taylor-Joy thinks there's a reason women aren't often part of that conversation. Her explanation followed her being asked whether her own immersive approach to acting qualifies as method acting.

While method acting is often synonymous with performers remaining in character off set, its roots trace back to Russian theatre director and actor Konstantin Stanislavski, who developed techniques to help actors better understand their characters' motivations. Over the years, however, some performers have taken that level of immersion far beyond its original intent.
