The 'TODAY' cohost told 'Entertainment Tonight' about how she managed to get a photo with the 'Mission: Impossible' star after the rain-soaked opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Hoda Kotb said she "blacked out" while taking the viral selfie of her and Tom Cruise standing in the rain at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

On July 26, the TODAY cohost posted the photo to Instagram showing herself wrapped up in a poncho beside a rain-soaked Cruise.

She wrote in the caption:

"Do you know when you dream of meeting Tom Cruise… And then it finally happens."

Of course, the photo was a viral sensation, with even her cohosts getting in on the fun.

Al Roker simply commented:

"Wow"

Kotb told Entertainment Tonight's Rachel Smith that she actually "blacked out" while taking the epic photo.

Her co-anchor Savannah Guthrie gave her all the props:

"The poncho, soaking wet Tom Cruise shot was the shot of the Olympics."
"If there was a gold medal for getting the shot."

Kotb responded by revealing she made a beeline for Cruise but doesn't have much recollection after that.

"It was so crazy, we were all together and 10 seconds later, I didn’t know what happened, I blacked out and then I had a picture."

Guthrie added:

"We were like, 'Where'd Hoda go?' and then she came back and was like, 'I got the shot.'"

While talking about the encounter on TODAY, Guthrie said it was "a moment that none of us will forget," while reliving the scene yet again.

Kotb also acknowledged that Cruise was incredibly friendly with everyone.

Stan Lee AI Hologram Unsettles Fans

In 2016, Stan Lee told the Hollywood Reporter that “Los Angeles is, to me, the center of the world’s entertainment. It has to have a Comic Con.”

This year’s convention, held Sept. 26–28, delivered on that vision in a way no one exactly put on their wish list—by resurrecting the late Marvel legend as an AI-powered hologram. That’s right: between the swag, panels, and trailer drops, fans were invited to “meet” Lee, who passed away in 2018 at age 95, via a digital stand-in programmed to chat like the real thing.

Jimmy Kimmel And Stephen Colbert Unload On Trump In Rare Crossover Event As Guests On Each Other's Shows

Late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert were each other's guests in a special crossover event on Tuesday and took the opportunity to call out "son of a b*tch" President Donald Trump, who has used his influence in attempts to silence them for criticizing him and his MAGA movement on the air.

Last week, ABC announced it would end its suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! just a week after Trump pushed to get host Jimmy Kimmel off the air following comments Kimmel made about the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk. ABC had had internal discussions with Disney, which saw a wave of subscriber cancellations in the wake of Kimmel's suspension.
