Captain Marvel's Cat 'Goose' Started A Viral Photoshop Trend In Korea That Has Now Gone Global

If you've already seen Captain Marvel, you know that the real star of the movie is the cat.

"Goose," the orange tabby, stole the show for millions of fans. The only thing better than superheroes? Their pets.


Of course, like most things in Captain Marvel, Goose is more than meets the eye:

Goose is an alien creature called a Flerken (a race of aliens that resemble cats) who went with Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) after her owner, Mar-Vell (Dr. Wendy Larson) was killed.

So appropriately, Goose got her own poster:

LOOK AT DAT FACE.

And then, naturally, everybody wanted to see their own cats in an epic movie poster.

And so, a new trend was born:



The trend appears to be primarily based in South Korea.

In fact, Goose was trending in South Korea because of these excellent posters:


But slowly the trend spread to English speakers:





Honestly, we are confused.

Confused, because, why are there exactly zero superhero movies starring cats?

And why don't more superheroes have cats like Goose?

Better yet, we want to see our own cats on the big screen!



One of those cats is definitely a Kree and the other is a Skrull.

We will let you decide which.



Not to be dramatic or anything but we would literally take a bullet for Peanut.

Isn't this the greatest hashtag you've ever seen?




Forget the Year of the Pig. 2019 is obviously the year of the cat!
