The United States has the most cases and subsequent deaths of the virus that's brought daily life in the country to a standstill. With over 90 thousand Americans dead and millions more unemployed, it will likely take years until the United States is back to normal.
A large part of this is due to the delayed response of President Donald Trump's administration. For weeks, Trump dismissed the highly contagious virus as hardly more different than the flu. In an effort to keep the number of documented cases down, he suppressed testing measures and continues to dismiss the need for tests. His failure to use his three years in office to replenish the national stockpile of medical equipment contributed to a massive shortage of lifesaving masks and other necessities.
Never one to take responsibility, the President has blamed China, the media, former President Barack Obama, Democratic governors, the World Health Organization, and Congress as thousands of Americans per week continue to die.
The President's son, Eric, continued this cycle of blame and dismissal in a Saturday appearance with far-right Fox News host Jeanine Pirro.

Saying Democrats are "trying to milk this for everything they can," Eric said the virus would disappear:
"So they will and you watch, they'll milk it every single day between now and Nov. 3. And guess what, after Nov. 3, [the virus] will magically all of a sudden go away and disappear and everybody will be able to reopen...Make no mistake, to a lot of them Jeanine, to a lot of them, this is a very cognizant strategy that they're trying to employ,"
The claims were similar to ones made by his father, who said the virus would go away like magic, back when there were fewer than 100 cases in the United States.
Eric continued:
"Listen, [2020 presumptive Democratic nominee Joe] Biden loves this. Biden can't go on stage without making some horrible blunder, I mean even from his basement he's making awful gaffes every single day, so his campaign is thrilled that he's not going out there."
As it turns out, Biden didn't love it at all.
Biden's campaign wasn't having any of it, saying in a statement:
"The simple fact is that President Trump ignored the threat of the coronavirus for months and has mishandled the response at every step since — destroying the strong economy he inherited from the Obama-Biden administrations and leading to countless unnecessary death.
"Trump's campaign knows he can't run on that dismal record so they're desperate to do whatever they can to throw up a smokescreen to try to conceal his historic mismanagement of this crisis."
Others agreed that Eric Trump, confident though he sounds, was treading water to cover up his father's failures.
The idea that over 100 countries were working conspiracy to cancel Trump's rallies was absurd.
Get a grip, Eric.
