The internet is going nuts over a new collaboration between Britney Spears and Elton John slated to drop soon, which would be her first new music since 2016.

And a new video posted by Elton John himself shows just how big a hit it could be. John filmed himself singing along to a snippet of the song in a restaurant in Cannes, France to a cheering crowd.

Fans of both stars are here for it.

The track, called "Hold Me Closer," contains elements of John's 1972 classic "Tiny Dancer" and seems pretty sure to be a banger.

See John's video below.

The video shows John performing a bit of the track at La Guerite, a beachside restaurant in the southern French city of Cannes, to a cheering crowd of onlookers. The song also includes elements of John's 1992 hit "The One."

La Guerite is the same location John teased his collaboration with Dua Lipa, "Cold Heart," last year. That song, which also used elements of several John classics including "Rocket Man," "Sacrifice" and "Kiss The Bride," went on to be a number one hit.

John and Spears' collaboration is sure to do the same, given how eagerly fans have been awaiting new music from Spears, especially in the wake of the dissolution last November of the 13-year legal conservatorship that strictly controlled all aspects of her life, including her artistic output.

The collaboration with John is said to have been Spears' idea—one that very likely would have been prohibited under the stringent controls of her conservatorship.

Though Spears released a song called "Swimming in the Stars" in 2020 during the furor over her legal efforts to escape her conservatorship, that song is an outtake from her last album, 2016's "Glory," making her and John's collaboration her first new music in six years.

And if the social media response is any indication, "Hold Me Closer" is going to be an instant hit.

"Hold Me Closer" is slated to drop tomorrow, August 26.
