The comedian told audience members at a recent show in Santa Rosa, 'This is the last time you’re going to see me.'

Ellen DeGeneres just announced she's done with show business—for good.

The comedian delivered the news to audience members during her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour stop at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa on Monday.

Per the SF Gate, an audience member asked:

“Will we see you on Broadway or movies?”

And DeGeneres replied:

“Um, no."
"This is the last time you’re going to see me."
"After my Netflix special, I’m done."

Another attendee asked the Emmy winner to reprise her role as Finding Nemo's Dory, and she reiterated:

“No, I’m going bye-bye, remember.”

DeGeneres added:

"I got kicked out of show business for being mean."
“I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity."
“I can be demanding and impatient and tough. I am a strong woman."
“I am many things, but I am not mean.”

In 2020, DeGeneres faced accusations from employees of her daytime talk show Ellen alleging she was rude, uncommunicative and racist, to name a few.

Former employees also complained of sexual harassment in the workplace as well as retaliation, including termination, for taking medical leave during the height of the pandemic.

Ultimately, DeGeneres left the show in May 2022.

People on social media learning of her plans to leave the industry don't blame her for her decision.

Many, however, also feel the comedian's public demise is somewhat karmic.

After DeGeneres finally apologized to her employees, she made the announcement that she would be leaving Ellen, claiming the gig was “not a challenge anymore.”

During the final episode, the host told the audience:

“Twenty-five years ago they canceled my sitcom because they didn’t want a lesbian to be in primetime once a week."
“And I said, ‘OK, then I’ll be on daytime every day. How about that?’"
"If I’ve done anything in the past 19 years, I hope I’ve inspired you to be yourself, your true, authentic self."
"And if someone is brave enough to tell you who they are, be brave enough to support them, even if you don’t understand.”

AOC Saves The Day By Giving Bronx Middle School Group A Tour Of The Capitol Amid Shutdown

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had people cheering after she stepped in to act as tour guide after a group of middle schoolers from the Bronx pulled up to the Capitol hours after the U.S. government officially shut down.

The federal government shut down early Wednesday after the White House and Congress failed to reach an agreement on federal spending. While Senate Democrats are in the minority, they hold enough seats to filibuster and are insisting that Republicans agree to extend federal subsidies for people insured under the Affordable Care Act.

GOP Lawmaker Sparks Outrage After Calling For Dem Rep. To Be Executed For Urging People To Protest Trump

On Wednesday, September 25, an Arizona MAGA Republican state Representative publicly called for the execution of Washington Democratic Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal because she urged anyone displeased with MAGA Republican President Donald Trump's job performance to exercise their First Amendment right to free speech and to protest.

Apparently, urging citizens to make their voices heard was a step too far for Arizona state GOP Representative John Gillette, who responded to a clip edited out of a longer video by right-wing account The Patriot Oasis (TPO). A quick scan through Gillette's X account media posts will reveal his political leanings.

Liberal TikToker Mortified After Discovering That Her Therapist Is Hardcore MAGA

There used to be a time where politics did not have to come into every room or be a part of every conversation. But in a world with President Trump and MAGA, it's not as simple as being Red, Blue, or Green anymore.

Now, the sociopolitical climate is dangerous for many people and still very stress-inducing for others. It's important to surround ourselves with people who make us feel safe and seen—and unfortunately, that might mean cutting out people who have "different beliefs" than we do.
