Many memes were making the rounds during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings.
Some celebrities even got in on the sharing.
Actress Elizabeth Banks—known for playing Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games series and for producing the Pitch Perfect films—shared one of the more popular memes. In the one she shared it is pointed out that women don't need to be mothers, daughters or wives to be respected.
They should be treated with respect for simply being human.
As a woman, Banks gets it.
Many of her followers got it too.
But some folks were not quite grasping the idea.
Thankfully, some folks were on hand to set things straight.
Well said.
Empathy should not require a proxy.
