GOP Congressman Slammed After Saying That Democrats 'Are In Love With Terrorists'

The partisan divide in Congress has worsened during President Donald Trump's time in office.

But Republican Representative Doug Collins of Georgia took things a step further on Fox News while speaking with host Lou Dobbs.

Collins, an ardent supporter of the President, came on to Fox News to defend the President's escalation of conflict with Iran.

He told Dobbs he believes Democrats are "in love with terrorists, we see that they mourn Soleimani more than they mourn our gold star families."

One of the strongest rebukes came from Illinois Senator and Iraq War veteran Tammy Duckworth. An Army helicopter pilot, Duckworth—a Democrat—lost both legs in combat in Iraq.

Critics all over Twitter spoke out against Collins' patently untrue claim.

Others felt now was a good time to remind Collins that the only person known well for attacking gold star families is the President he supports.

It's divisive rhetoric like this that is driving our country apart.

Many called on Collins' constituents to vote him out of office in 2020.

While we're talking about "loving" terrorists, it should be noted that President Trump once claimed to have "fallen in love" with brutal dictator Kim Jong Un.

The entire interview stunk of hypocrisy.

Maybe the next time Representative Collins, who is a chaplain in the Air Force Reserve, appears on television, he'll find the strength to refrain from saying every Democrat is an unholy demon.

But don't count on it.

Denver Airport Sparks Debate After Asking For Financial Support For Unpaid TSA Agents Amid Partial Shutdown

Denver International Airport (DEN) is asking travelers to donate grocery and gas gift cards to help Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents who are working without pay during the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown that began in mid February.

The shutdown stems from the 2026 DHS budget appropriation still being unapproved by Congress and the expiration of their continuing resolution authority (CRA) which funded their operations until it lapsed. This weekend, TSA workers missed their first full paycheck.
