As his electoral defeat has grown from probable to insurmountable, one of President Trump's responses has been to float the possibility of a second run for president in 2024.
But his niece, Mary Trump, doesn't buy it. And during an appearance on CNN's Cuomo Prime Time, she explained why in the most straight-forwardly savage way possible.
Speaking with host Chris Cuomo, Trump boiled down her uncle's miniscule likelihood of a second run to one thing: his ego.
"He will never put himself in a position where he can lose like this again, first of all.
Trump also pointed out that the President's ego would never allow him to sit around and wait nearly half a decade to be in the spotlight again.
"Secondly, it would mean for four years that he is playing essentially a supporting role, which will be very difficult for him to sustain."
But she didn't stop there. Trump also mused about how the President's health may well preclude him from running even if his ego did not.
"...most importantly, in four years, he will be the same age Joe Biden is now. However, Donald is a very unhealthy person. He has a terrible diet, he doesn't exercise, and he has, you know, psychological disorders that continue to go untreated. So I don't even imagine that he'll be able to run in four years."
And for the big finale, as a further barrier to another run for office, Trump cited the far more likely next chapter for the President: a stint in criminal court.
"Plus the fact, of course, he may be looking at serious charges being brought against him."
Boom, roasted, as the saying goes.
On Twitter, many people agreed with Trump's assessment, and applauded her straight talk about the President.
According to a report in The New York Times, Trump has conceded his loss to his inner circle and has told aides that he plans to announce his 2024 run as soon as Joe Biden's victory is certified by the states' election authorities.
