After more than 40 years, Anthony Daniels said goodbye to the original Star Wars saga and it got a bit emotional for everyone.

These days you can barely make a movie trailer for $11 million, but in 1977 that was all it took for George Lucas to turn his vision of a Flash Gordon, samurai space opera into one of the largest movie franchises in history.

Hidden inside the golden suit of his droid alter-ego C-3PO Anthony Daniels has been there every step of the way.

Now, after his last day of filming on Episode IX, Daniels is saying goodbye to the saga he has been apart of for the last four decades.

"Today was 3PO's last on Episode IX," he wrote on Twitter. "He's sad – so am I. But we're so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy."

"I'll miss everyone but I'm glad to know that we've been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world."

Daniels. 72, has appeared as C-3PO in every live-action Star Wars production to date, but 3PO's last day of filming on Episode IX marks the end of his iconic role in the Skywalker saga.

Fans were as emotional as Daniels as they shared grateful goodbyes, thanking Daniels and 3PO for all the memories.

But after all the bittersweet goodbyes fans remembered they still have Episode IX to look forward to.

There is no news yet as to whether Daniels will continue to play the well-mannered protocol droid in future Star Wars productions, but fans are hoping this won't be the last they see of 3PO.

After all, end of an era is a perfect time to start the next one.

Lindsey Graham Just Shared His Mind-Numbing Idea For Renaming The Nobel Peace Prize After Trump—And The Delusion Is Off The Charts

South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham was criticized for offering fawning praise for President Donald Trump during a Fox News appearance in which he suggested the Nobel Peace Prize should be renamed the "Trump Prize" in the president's honor.

Graham made the comment while discussing Trump’s push for additional Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords as part of broader efforts to end the war with Iran. Graham argued that, if Trump succeeds in expanding the accords and securing a wider regional peace deal, the Nobel Peace Prize should effectively become the “Trump Prize.”
