Republican Former AG of Arizona Says What We're All Thinking About AZ Election 'Audit'

Republican Former AG of Arizona Says What We're All Thinking About AZ Election 'Audit'
CNN

Earlier this year, Republican legislators in Arizona forced a partisan "audit" of Maricopa County's ballots in the 2020 election, giving further credence to former President Donald Trump's lies that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him by Democrats engaging in widespread election fraud.

For months, the so-called audit was marred by conspiracy theories and shady behavior. The firm overseeing the audit, Cyber Ninjas, had never worked on an election before and had expressed support for Trump's election delusions in the past. One of the audit's workers claimed they were searching for bamboo fibers in ballots, based on fantasies that fake ballots were somehow flown in from Asia.

The audit was funded by conservatives and at least one participant in the deadly January 6 insurrection was seen counting ballots.

After months of delays, the audit's report was finally released, further reinforcing now-President Biden's 2020 win in the county—ten months after he won it the first time.

Now, a Republican former Attorney General for Arizona, Grant Woods, is calling the audit a "grift."

In an interview with CNN, Woods said of the audit:

"They're in it for the money. It is a grift. There's a lot of grifters we have been exposed to. I was attorney general for years. I dealt with grifters every day. This is how they act."

Others agreed with the former Attorney General's assessment.

People weren't surprised at the sham.

Nevertheless, similar audits are already emerging in other Republican-led swing states.

A 'Fake Egg' Prank Targeting Kids Is Trending On TikTok—But Not Everyone Thinks It's Funny

In a recent TikTok trend, people are presenting young children with "fake eggs" and crushing the egg in their hands to show that the eggs are fake.

In order for this trend to work, the person has to poke a hole into each end of the egg to drain it of its yolk and let the shell dry, so it becomes more brittle and easy to crush, making the prank more believable.

Guy Sparks Debate After Abandoning Girlfriend In Economy While He Booked Himself A First Class Seat On Flight

It's really hard to watch while someone is clearly not being treated well enough by their partner, and instead of accepting the reality check for what it is, they spend their time digging their heels in deeper and defending their partner's honor.

That was certainly true for TikToker Nicole Vawter, or @nicmarievee, anyway, when fellow TikTokers called her partner out on selfishly booking himself a first class seat while his long-time girlfriend sat back in economy.

Guy Sparks Modern Dating Debate With His Unhinged Texts To Woman Who Turned Him Down For Second Date

You know what they say: if a person has to point out how nice they are, they probably aren't really all that nice.

Actions tend to speak louder than words, with an affinity for niceness and kindness being among the best examples. When a person is truly nice and kind, it will come through in their daily attitude and actions without them having to say anything at all.
