Amanda Bynes, who frequented our TV and film screens in the late 90s and early 00s in such smash hits as She's The Man, The Amanda Show, All That and Easy A is hoping for the swift end to a 9-year-long conservatorship.

Bynes, who was placed under the conservatorship in 2013201the request of her parents. After setting a fire in a driveway in Thousand Oaks, California, Bynes was involuntarily committed to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

The court granted the conservatorship and as recently as last year extended it to 2023. But Bynes believes the time for her freedom has come.

She posted a video to Instagram to thank fans for their support.

Bynes thanked fans for their love and support for her freedom from the conservatorship, which she hopes to end at her court date in two weeks.

Bynes' attorney, David A. Esquibias, said Bynes "believes her condition is improved and protection of the court is no longer necessary."

Bynes, in the 9 years since being placed under the conservatorship, has accomplished quite a bit.

Bynes became engaged to a man she met at her former sober living home, Paul Michael, in 2020.

Later that year, her lawyer said she was pursuing a degree at California Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

They said:

"Amanda is very entrepreneurial."
"She is investigating fragrances. She is now considering perfume in addition to a clothing line."
"But, don't get too excited. She is still a student at FIDM earning her degree."

Bynes has been noticeably absent from social media over the past nine years.

The Instagram account she shared the video from is brand new with only 5 posts so far.

In addition to ending her conservatorship, Bynes has begun the process of removing her face tattoo—a heart on her left cheek.

Bynes's parents are "thrilled" she may be able to end her conservatorship soon.

Tamar Arminak, her parents' attoryney said:

“The professionals say she is ready to make her own life choices and decisions and are so proud of her."
"They 100 percent support her decision to end the conservatorship.”

Here's hoping they #FreeAmanda.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
