Georgia senatorial candidate Herschel Walker denied a recent allegation that a woman urged her to have an abortion, arguing he had no clue who this woman might be.

According to an original news story reported by the Daily Beast, Walker sent approximately $700 by check for an ex-girlfriend's abortion back in 2009. The woman who made the claim initially wished to remain anonymous out of safety concerns.

But after the former NFL running back's statement denying the allegation she revealed she is the mother to one of his children born out of wedlock.

Walker is the Republican nominee in the 2022 United States Senate election for Georgia and previously served on the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition under former Republican President Donald Trump—who endorsed Walker and has campaigned for him.

When Fox News host Brian Kilmeade asked Walker if he was able to identify the woman making the claim, he responded:

“Not at all. And that’s what I hope everyone can see."

He added:

"It’s sort of like everyone is anonymous, or everyone is leaking, and they want you to confess to something you have no clue about.”

Walker explained the allegations claiming it indicated how "desperate" people were and saw him as a "big threat."

“I know that and I knew it when I got into this race, but they don’t realize that I think they came for the wrong one. They energized me."
"They energized me, because I know how they really want to try to keep this seat.”

The anonymous woman–who is reportedly a registered Democrat and continued her years-long relationship with Walker after the abortion–told the media outlet his statement sounded ridiculous.

“Sure, I was stunned, but I guess it also doesn’t shock me, that maybe there are just so many of us that he truly doesn’t remember."
“But then again, if he really forgot about it, that says something, too.”

The woman said her chief concern with revealing her identity had to do with being the mother to one of Walker's children and protecting her family's privacy.

The Daily Beast confirmed:

"Walker has publicly acknowledged the child as his own, and the woman proved she is the child’s mother and provided credible evidence of a long-term relationship with Walker."

The woman said she could no longer stay silent after Walker's denial.

“I’ve been very civil thus far. I keep my mouth shut. I don’t cause any trouble. I stay in the background."
"But I’m also not gonna get run over time and time again. That’s crazy.”

Walker's son with his first wife Cindy DeAngelis Grossman, Christian Walker, was also unable to remain silent.

The younger Walker has been on a tirade on social media about his father's dishonesty and hypocrisy.

Christian Walker wasn't alone in that criticism.

The woman also noted Walker talked about Christianity but only uses it “when it works for him.”

She said Walker never expressed his misgivings about abortion generally "or any regret about the one that they had." But when she got pregnant again years later, she made a different choice despite Walker saying it wasn’t “a convenient time” for him.

“He didn’t express any regret. He said, ‘relax and recover," said the anonymous woman–likely referring to Walker's message in the "get well" card sent to her along with the abortion payment.

The Daily Beast reported Walker reimbursed the woman for an abortion after she and Walker conceived a child in 2009.

She provided the receipt from the clinic showing the date of the procedure along with Walker's personally-signed check inside a "get well" card.

She said of the abortion:

“He seemed pretty pro-choice to me. He was pro-choice, obviously."
"I don’t think there’s anywhere in the Bible where it says ‘Have four kids with four different women while you’re with another woman."’
"Or where it praises not being a present parent. Or that an abortion is an OK thing to do when it’s not the right time for you, but a terrible thing for anyone else to do when you are running for Senate."
"He picks and chooses where it’s convenient for him to use that religious crutch."

The abortion news story polarized the internet, with many Republican backers supporting Walker's denial.

Former National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch referred to the anonymous woman as “one broad,” as well as a “skank.”

In response to the traction the news story has gotten, the anonymous woman added:

“It’s good to see my story has been so well received because I’m telling the truth."
"I’m not trying to glorify abortion—that’s a very personal choice that everyone has to make for themselves—but I have no shame in it. It is what it is. It’s part of my story, and what makes me who I am today.”

She added she hoped her story would empower others in her situation to feel less alone.

“You’re not a monster, not a murderer. These are real life decisions that can completely change your life."
"Making it so black-and-white makes it easy for these old men to say it’s wrong or it’s right, but they’ve never been put in a position where it’s done to their body.”

But she stated it was wrong for Walker to use the controversial topic of abortion in a way to politically benefit him.

“He didn’t accept responsibility for the kid we did have together, and now he isn’t accepting responsibility for the one that we didn’t have."
"That says so much about how he views the role of women in childbirth, versus his own."
"And now he wants to take that choice away from other women and couples entirely."

She concluded with:

“This was a decision I had to make—twice—about my future and a potential child’s future, and I was able to make it, both times. And Herschel was also able to have a say."
"The fact he now thinks it’s OK to just take that away, I just can’t understand.”

Walker will be facing the incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in the upcoming general election on November 8.
