Michelle Yeoh broke down over her latest film role—and we're so happy for her.
The Malaysian born actress and martial artist Michelle Yeoh has been gushing over her most recent role in studio A24's film Everything Everywhere All At Once—a performance she has also been getting outstanding reviews for.
Yeoh, famous for her roles in such action films as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and James Bond: Tomorrow Never Dies and Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as well as the romantic comedy drama Crazy Rich Asians and popular streaming series Star Trek: Discovery recently sat down for an emotional interview with GQ about her most recent role.

In the film, directed by Daniels due of Kwan and Scheinert, Yeoh plays Evelyn Wang, a woman who must use her newfound powers to fight bizarre beings after an interdimensional rift disrupts reality.
While being a metaphysical and multidimensional roller coaster, the film also boasts a lot of comedy and drama, with a focus on family dynamics.
Yeoh beamed over the role, tearfully calling it "something I've been waiting for."
During the interview, Yeoh began tearing up and dabbed her eyes with tissues as she talked about her emotional connection to the role.
She told GQ:
“When I read the script, I thought, ‘This is something..."
“This is something I’ve been waiting for for a long time that’s going to give me the opportunity to show my fans, my family, my audience what I’m capable of."
"To be funny. To be real. To be sad. Finally, somebody understood that I can do all these things.”

Critics everywhere have been raving over Everything Everywhere All At Once. The sci-fi adventure received a whopping 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been raved about in both Variety and Vanity Fair.
In fact, Yeoh's performance is so outstanding that critics believe this role could land Yeoh her first ever Oscar nomination.
