Woman Stunned To Discover Her Apartment Stairs Are Suddenly Missing Due To Construction

Woman Stunned To Discover Her Apartment Stairs Are Suddenly Missing Due To Construction

When the staircases in Harry Potter would move without a moments notice it was magical.

But when the stairs to your apartment building disappear without warning, in real life, the only magic involved in the situation is not losing your patience as you wait for the situation to get rectified.

In a recent TikTok posted by Olivia Crump, known to the TikTok world as @foodbattle2008, another person's 'what if' was her reality.

As she went to exit her apartment, she came across a slight snag on her way out.

#stuck in my lil #apartment

The eight second TikTok begins with Olivia's view from her apartment where the stairs immediately outside her door are intact.

But, upon closer inspection, viewers can see that a sizable chunk of the stairs leading to the ground level of the apartment are missing. Typically, when construction work is being done to an apartment building the tenants are given advance notice to make proper accommodations.

According to Olivia, that courtesy was not extended to her or the other residents in the building who were caught completely unaware by the seemingly impromptu building renovation.

The TikTok has unsurprisingly gained the attention of people on social media, gaining over 2 million views, nearly 308,000 likes and over 1,500 comments.

Many of those comments showed concern for the safety of the residents as it appeared to be a rather unsafe situation.

The video features text that reads, "When your apartment removes the stairs without warning and you're stuck for hours ✨" as the song Hell To Da Naw Naw Naw by Bishop Bullwinkle plays in the background.

In a screenshot that's featured at the end of the TikTok, Olivia shows she tweeted a picture of the back of a construction worker as they work on the stairs.

The tweet simply reads, "a princess trapped in her tower".

While many comments were those of concern, some tried to use humor to make light of the situation.

In a comment to DailyDot, Olivia said:

"I have no plans to pursue legal action, although I’m sure I could because they were definitely causing a fire hazard."
“I do think it’s more than fair that they give us some form of compensation for putting us in a dangerous situation without warning, but it doesn’t seem like they plan on doing that!”

The work from home vibes were strong without a doubt.

Gavin Newsom Hilariously Trolls Trump For Struggling To Stay Awake During Antifa Roundtable

California Governor Gavin Newsom mocked President Donald Trump for appearing to fall asleep during a White House roundtable about Antifa, which the administration recently designated a "domestic terror organization" even though it's not an organization at all.

Antifa is a loose network of anti-fascist activists with no central structure, no funding, no membership roster, and no offices or leadership hierarchy for prosecutors to target.

Remote Worker Speaks Out After Job Uses 'Dystopian' Software To Track His Productivity

There are a few vital truths to every office-based job. First, there are going to be "busy work" moments, from meetings to admin tasks to minor side-quest-style projects that add to the company in some small way but otherwise feel like a waste of time.

Second, as human beings, we all need breaks to restore our mental focus, so a person who occasionally scrolls through their personal email, sends a few texts to a friend, or even scrolls Instagram for a few minutes, will likely be more productive than those who attempt to lock in and do nothing but their job throughout their entire shift.
