So ... how 'bout that capitalism?
Uber driver and TikTok content creator @ScottyRides posted a video highlighting his "hack" for free parking at sporting events. The clip may have been meant in jest, but it got some people seriously fired up.
Now the internet can't decide if he is "a liar and a thief" or if he's just some dude trying to survive capitalism with a sense of humor.
Maybe both? But aren't we all?
The philosophical feud started after Scotty posted this TikTok clip:
In it, we see him pull up to a gate attendant who tells him the parking fee is $20.
In response, the driver tells the attendant that he is just dropping off the people in the back seat. The attendant allows Scotty through by telling him to drive forward and to the right.
As he passes through the gate, he comments to the people in the back seat that that's the best way to not have to pay for event parking.
Lots of commenters pointed out that venues have started to adopt designated drop off areas for ride share services like Lyft, Uber, etc. so this wouldn't work everywhere.
But there are quite a few spots - like the Honda Center in Anaheim California, where this was filmed - that don't have that sort of system in place yet.
Scotty did clarify that the clip was posted in jest.
Most people understood the joke and played along.

But some took serious offense to the clip, even going so far as to remind Scotty about Gods judgment.

Which of the two camps are you in? Did you see the humor or do you think Scotty is just taking advantage and should be repeimanded, not praised?
