Don Jr. Implores Young Supporters To Ditch Peaceful Bible Rule Since It's 'Gotten Us Nothing'

Speaking at a Turning Point USA conference, Donald Trump Jr. railed against supposed "cancel culture" and urged young conservatives to abandon the peaceful rules of the Christian Bible, saying following them has "gotten us nothing."

Trump Jr. stressed only by "banding together" could conservatives hope to "take on these institutions."

Trump Jr.'s assessment once again cast the mostly White, male, heterosexual, cisgender conservatives in his audience as the ultimate victims of liberals who've been playing "hardball."

You can hear his remarks in the video below.

He said:

"They cannot cancel us all."
"This will be contrary to a lot of our beliefs because I'd love not to have to participate in cancel culture."
"I'd love that it didn't exist."
"But as long as it does, folks, we better be playing the same game."
"We've turned the other cheek and I understand sort of the biblical reference, I understand the mentality but it's gotten us nothing."
"OK? It's gotten us nothing while we've ceded ground in every major institution."

Trump Jr.'s statements were widely condemned on social media for displaying further evidence of the far-right's distancing from the tenets of Christianity, a sharp about-face for a party that continues to pride itself for supporting "family values."

Many also interpreted his statements as another example of a prominent conservative calling for insurrection, essentially a repeat of what took place on January 6.

Trump Jr. wasn't the only conservative to make unflattering headlines for statements made during the event.

The Turning Point USA conference was also notable for featuring former Alaska Republican Governor Sarah Palin, who insisted she would get a COVID-19 vaccine "over my dead body," telling the crowd of conservatives she doesn't need to be inoculated because she previously had the virus.

The boy was at Kennedy Space Center in Florida with a GoPro strapped to his black NASA cap, having traveled to witness the first human-crewed mission to the Moon in more than 50 years.

As he waited, a CNN reporter approached him with a question whose answer usually involves some variation of “inspiration,” “history,” or “science.”
