Climate Group Raising Funds to Carve Trump's Face Into a Glacier to Send a Message

President Donald Trump's administration is no friend to the environment, especially considering his head of the Environmental Protection Agency (Scott Pruitt) is an active climate change denier. However, The Melting Ice Association, a Finnish activist group, is hoping to change the President's view of the world with a new project they call Project Trumpmore. If funded, the experiment will involve carving a bust of President Trump into the side of an arctic iceberg to answer a central question:

Will it melt or last a thousand years?

After carving Trump's likeness into a glacier, the public could then watch it via a live webcam. If the President's staff is right about climate change, ice-Trump will have nothing to worry about. But if humanity truly is affecting the Earth's temperature (a fact agreed upon by almost all reputable scientists), the world will get to see Trump's face melt away in real time.

The plan would cost around $500,000!

But why a statue of Trump? The Melting Ice Association explained their reasoning in a statement:

Our starting point was to create something concrete, something people can see and something that makes climate change visual.

It's possible this project might even be able to get the President's attention! After all, Trump has never been shy about his desire to add his face to the side of Mount Rushmore. At a rally, Trump once joked:

Every president on Mount Rushmore believed in protecting American industry. Now here's what I do. I'd ask whether or not you someday think I will be on Mount Rushmore.

South Dakota Republican representative Kristi Noem also revealed her strange first encounter with the President. He asked her an unexpected question:

"Do you know it's my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore?" I started laughing. He wasn't laughing, so he was totally serious.

The project is currently seeking funding from the public so they can, hopefully, spread awareness of the serious problems facing our planet.

Nicolas Prieto, the chairman of the Melting Ice Association, commented:

Often people only believe something when they see it with their own eyes.

One thing's for certain: a giant, melting Trump sculpture would be hard to miss.
