Trump Tries To Take Credit For Booming Stock Market—And The Reasoning Is Bonkers Even For Him

Donald Trump was widely mocked for claiming 'the Trump stock market' is booming because he is doing well in the polls.

The presidential election is slated for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. With less than 10 months before Americans head to the polls, the candidates are sharing their accomplishments.

Or sharing their opponent's accomplishments and claiming them as their own.

On Monday morning, former Republican President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to post an all-CAPS screed taking credit for the current stock market boom.

The "presumptive" GOP presidential nominee posted:

"THIS IS THE TRUMP STOCK MARKET BECAUSE MY POLLS AGAINST BIDEN ARE SO GOOD THAT INVESTORS ARE PROJECTING THAT I WILL WIN, AND THAT WILL DRIVE THE MARKET UP - EVERYTHING ELSE IS TERRIBLE (WATCH THE MIDDLE EAST!), AND RECORD SETTING INFLATION HAS ALREADY TAKEN ITS TOLL."
"MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

The Biden-Harris campaign noted Trump’s endorsement of the economic growth during their administration.

Biden-Harris HQ posted two pieces of media on X, captioned:

"Left: Trump in 2020 claiming the stock market will collapse if President Biden wins"
"Right: Trump today desperately trying to take credit for the stock market hitting record highs under President Biden"

Others also noted Trump’s desperate bid to take credit for the current economic gains after the economy tanked and the federal deficit grew during his time in office.

A Biden parody account even weighed in.

In a dig that didn't come from Dark Brandon, the post declared:

"Folks, the economy is doing so well that the losing former President is literally trying to take credit for it."

Elon Musk Cries Racism After Associated Press Explains Why They Capitalize 'Black' But Not 'White'

Elon Musk has spent the year picking fights, from health research funding to imagined productivity crises among federal workers and whether DOGE accomplished anything at all besides leaving chaos in its wake.

His latest grievance, however, is thinly disguised as grammatical. Specifically, he is once again furious that the Associated Press (AP) capitalizes “Black” while keeping “white” lowercase.

Marvel Just Confirmed That Chris Evans Is Returning For 'Avengers: Doomsday'—And Fans Have Mixed Feelings

Folks, once again, continuity is more of a suggestion than a rule in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has officially confirmed that Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday, and the internet has responded exactly how you’d expect: screaming, celebrating, arguing, and a very justified side-eye toward how Sam Wilson keeps getting treated.

The confirmation comes via a teaser now playing exclusively in theaters ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash. There is no official online release, despite leaks circulating. If you didn’t catch it on the big screen, Marvel’s response is essentially: sorry, guess you had to be there.
