This Energetic Bulldog's Attempt At Westminster's Agility Contest Is A Lesson In Sheer Determination

Rudy the bulldog didn't score high marks at the Westminster Kennel Club's agility contest in New York's Piers 94 this weekend, but he definitely stole the show. Verb the border collie took home the top honors for the purebred dog race at the 143rd Westminster dog show, but it's the underdog that won spectators' hearts.

Bulldogs aren't known for their nimbleness, so they probably aren't suited for a speed competition where dogs plow through a rigorous obstacle course involving hurdles, a seesaw and U-shaped tubes. However, Rudy is not your average bulldog.

He veered off course for a hot second, but found his way back on course like a pro and never gave up.

Scoring is determined by how many faults a dog team with the handler incurs, and the faults are not limited to knocking over obstacle cones or other set pieces, alone. They can be penalized for time faults, which are the seconds run over the standard course time, depending on other factors like the complexities of the course level.

According to USA Today, Rudy's determination earned him an impressive finish at 46.63 seconds, 51.63 after the fault.

According to bulldog enthusiasts, the squishy-faced hefty dogs aren't known for their gracefulness, let alone their obedience.

You gotta give Rudy major props. Look at him plow through.

This is the sedentary behavior most bulldog owners are familiar with.

Other bulldogs agreed with this user. You can almost hear them all collectively say, "Same."

At the end of the day, Rudy just wins at love.

Cloud, who boasts nearly 58,000 followers on Instagram, said he actually used to go "door-to-door" stumping for "one of [President Donald] Trump's closest friends in Congress, adding that he "used to say, 'I think, therefore I am conservative.'"

Trump's AG Sets Off A Firestorm With Claim That Americans 'Want Their Tax Dollars Spent On' Trump's $1.8 Billion Slush Fund

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is facing heavy criticism after claiming that Americans "want their tax dollars spent on things like" President Trump's $1.8 billion slush fund that may go to his allies and those who participated in the January 6 insurrection.

The Justice Department said last week it was creating the fund as part of a deal in which Trump agreed to drop his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS. But despite a press release, memo, and a newly-released settlement agreement, many details about the program remain unclear.
