Lipreader Breaks Down What Leonardo DiCaprio Was Flamboyantly Saying In Viral Golden Globes Video
A candid moment of actor Leonardo DiCaprio at the recent Golden Globes went viral for the actor's over the top mannerisms and facial expressions.
The video snippet left people laughing, but it also left them wondering what exactly he was saying. The only word everyone seemed to decipher was "K-pop," a genre of popular music originating in South Korea.
In case you missed the viral Leo video, here it is:
Luckily for those of us that don't read lips, there are folks on TikTok willing to share their skills.
Billing herself as the "human hot mic" and "local deafy," Jackie G (@tismejackieg) routinely shares her skills on both her TikTok and Instagram accounts to reveal what microphones didn't catch.
She shared her interpretation of the DiCaprio viral moment here:
@tismejackieg @CBS Studios you rang??? I just know he was talking to Teyana 🤭#goldenglobes2026 #leonardodicaprio #lipreading #lipreadinggirl deaf deafcommunity deafculture deafawareness hardofhearing hoh signlanguage tismejackieg Disclaimer: Lipreading is not a reliable form of communication, all statements are alleged. 🫶
Including the disclaimer that lipreading isn't exact, Jackie G shared that Leo told an unknown person:
"I was watching you with the K-pop thing, you were like: ‘Is that… Who’s the K-pop? Are they… Oh, it is!’”
He then laughs, telling the other person:
"We were laughing, you were like: 'Is that… Who is that? K-pop!'"
At the end, DiCaprio turns to sign an autograph, saying:
"Sure, OK, I'll sign."
The over-the-top gestures were Leo mimicking the other person, which Jackie G guessed was his One Battle After Another costar Teyana Taylor.
Though it hasn't been confirmed, others agreed.

The K-pop reference is likely for the Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters, which won two Golden Globes that night.
On Instagram, CBS—which aired the Golden Globes—thanked Jackie G for her insight.
People are still surprised at how animated the usually reserved DiCaprio was.

MAGA Has 'Simple Diplomatic Solution' For How The U.S. Can Acquire Greenland—And It Involves Barron Trump
MAGA supporters have everyone rolling their eyes after they suggested President Donald Trump's son Barron Trump could marry 18-year-old Princess Isabella of Denmark in exchange for Greenland.
Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark and is, alongside the Faroe Islands, the only other autonomous territory within the Kingdom. Citizens of both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are full citizens of Denmark. As one of the Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union, Greenland’s citizens are also recognized as EU citizens.
Last week, the White House said it was not ruling out military action to acquire Greenland from Denmark, a NATO ally. Under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, NATO’s collective defense clause, an attack on one member state is treated as an attack on the entire alliance.
At a news conference in Copenhagen, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen condemned the "completely unacceptable pressure from our closest ally." Jens-Frederik Nielsen, Greenland's Prime Minister, stressed "if we have to choose between the United States and Denmark here and now, we choose Denmark."
To get around this pushback, one MAGA social media user made the following suggestion that went viral:
"The simple diplomatic solution is Barron Trump marries Princess Isabella of Denmark and Greenland is given to America as dowry payment."
You can see their post below.
Far-right commentator Megyn Kelly co-signed the suggestion, calling the social media user who suggested it the "Henry(Etta) Kissinger of our time."
MAGA followers loved the medieval idea... even going so far in some cases as to share AI-generated images of Barron Trump and Princess Isabella as husband and wife.
Others were not amused however.
When asked about Greenland last week, Trump said "ownership is very important," dismissing the fact the territory is under the control of a key ally. He insisted the U.S should control the territory "because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success."
Denmark’s foreign minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, and Greenland’s foreign minister, Vivian Motzfeldt, are set to meet at the White House on Wednesday for talks with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.Ilhan Omar Effortlessly Drags Elon Musk After He Parrots Easily-Debunked Conspiracy About Her
Minnesota Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar called out billionaire Elon Musk after he claimed erroneously that Somalis are being brought illegally to Minnesota to help keep her in office.
Musk amplified a graphic on X that asserted Democrats support illegal immigration as a way to absorb noncitizens into their voting base. Musk accused Omar, who was born in Somalia, of profiting from the purported arrangement.
The graphic, originally shared by an account describing itself as an “unapologetic believer in American exceptionalism,” claims Democrats facilitate a “flood” of undocumented immigrants in exchange for winning elections.
Musk commented:
"This has been happening for years. Ilhan Omar is the most obvious example. A large number of relatively recently arrived Somalis will elect only a Somali to Congress in that Minnesota district. This is much more subtle, but just as bad, in many other parts of America."
You can see his post below.
Minnesota's 5th District, which Omar represents, is one of the most diverse in the state.
About 16% of its residents are immigrants, the highest share of any Minnesota district, with many coming from countries such as Somalia, Ethiopia, Mexico, India, Laos, Ecuador, and Liberia. It also has the largest population of Somali Americans in the United States, with Somalis making up roughly 3% of the district’s population.
But what Musk overlooks is that the district, the most liberal in the Upper Midwest, has a majority white population. Data shows that the majority of the population is of German, Norwegian, Swedish, or other white European ancestry.
Musk's post soon caught Omar's attention and she responded with the following:
“You are one of the dumbest people on earth, my district is literally a majority white district. Your conspiracy theories are laughable and should have no place in a society that cares about facts.”
You can see her post below.
Others also criticized Musk in response.
Musk's post comes amid conservative claims—offered with little supporting evidence—that Somali-run child care centers in Minnesota improperly received public funds intended to support child care for low-income families. Subsequently, DHS and the FBI expanded their presence in Minnesota as federal authorities froze child care funding statewide.
Omar is one of the members of the "squad" of Democratic lawmakers. Even though three of them—a group that includes New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—were born in the United States, President Donald Trump has nonetheless said they should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came."
Omar has spoken out against this racism and vowed to defend the Constitution after Trump criticized her as "somebody who comes from Somalia where they don't have anything" and mocked her allegiance to the Constitution. Omar has been a U.S. citizen since 2000.
True Crime Lovers Reveal 'Dumb Mistakes' Serial Killers Make That Get Them Caught In The End
True crime has become incredibly popular with the introduction of cable television then streaming services and podcasts.
Once just a section in bookstores, there are entire cable channels dedicated to recapping crime.
An always popular subject are serial killers, with many becoming household names.
But consuming thousands of hours of true crime content offers more than just entertainment. Connoisseurs of criminal activity learn the dos and don'ts of a wide variety of illegal activities, including the commission of multiple murders.
Reddit user legendofmyarea asked:
"From what we see in crime documentaries and real cases, what are the dumb mistakes serial killers usually make that end up getting them caught?"
Retail
"Shopping at Home Depot for 'supplies' in front of security cameras."
~ Art_In_Space
"This is why I've been saving my lawn darts since 1972."
"I don't really want to murder anybody, but if it comes to that, the cops will just have to sit in their car and cry because I was way ahead of them since age 8."
~ Amish_Robotics_Lab
Moving Violations
"Not obeying the traffic code. Ted Bundy was stopped because he was driving without headlights."
"Joel Rifkin, Randy Kraft, there’s several serial killers that were caught due to basic traffic violations."
~ cantcountnoaccount
"Also Tim McVeigh."
~ a_natural_chemical
"Also the Yorkshire Ripper who was caught by a copper because he was driving a car with false plates."

Bragging Rights
"Communicating with the police. Sending taunting letters with clues like, 'I coded my name so you will never identify me, hahahahaha!' then signing 'oJhn mthiS rJ'."
~ OrioleTragic
"So this actually happened with the BTK Killer. He sent the police a 3.5" floppy disk with a letter or something and they were able to easily trace it to him."
~ MeatShield12
"It's even dumber than that. In one of his BTK letters to the police, he specifically asked if a floppy disk could be traced."
"The police obviously lied and told him no. So he sent them a floppy and they figured out his identity in no time using the floppy disk metadata."
~ WakingWaldo
"In a later interview he was apparently deeply hurt that the police lied to him. He thought they had a 'respected opponent' relationship like in a comic book."
~ MeatShield12
Returning to the Scene
"Most are seeking attention, and return to the scene of the crime to watch the drama unfold. Kind of like going back and rereading a social media post you're proud of."
"When chatting casually, they can sometimes reveal that they know more than they should."
~ SaveFerrisBrother
"That is the big one, to me. Coming back to the scene of a crime you committed is the number one thing they tell you not to do, but they all do it, it seems."
"Arsonists love to watch the fires they set burn things up, but you can tell by a person's interest in it who set the fire."
"Ted Bundy used to return to where he buried bodies all the time, except they were usually up on mountains and such so it was harder to see him doing it."
~ xXAcidBathVampireXx
Habits
"I thought Richard Ramirez wearing the same exact shoes to almost all of his murder scenes and leaving footprints everywhere was pretty stupid."
"Investigators really ran with that, as they should have. Until it was leaked to the press."
~ waytogo-paul
Rituals
"They tend to be rather ritualistic, doing the same things in the same ways again and again, so things add up."
"And of course, even if every murder someone has a 90% chance of getting away with it, after a couple dozen of them, there's a 92% chance of getting caught."
~ ThreadCountHigh
Body Removal
"Knowing just how heavy a dead body is to move is another mistake."
~ rata_s80_v8
Clogged Drains
"Complaining to your landlord after blocking your own drains with the remains of your victims. This is how Dennis Nilsen was caught."
~ FScrotFitzgerald
"That's the one where a distressed plumber called the police because he found meat in the pipes."
"I feel so bad for that guy. Just wanted to show up and do a job, got free trauma instead."
"The whole case feels like a skit on how not to commit crime."
~ PlasticGirl
Loose Lips
"I watch a ton of True Crime stuff and people running their mouths in jail awaiting trial is absolutely insane to me and it happens all the f*cking time."
"The best is if they're caught admitting sh*t or ordering more crimes to be carried out while using the jail phones."
~ WaterlooMall
"Everyone thinks 'snitches get stitches', but the reality is that a lot of folks in prison would sell out almost any of their 'friends' in there if the price was right."
~ djmax101
"Yeah but 'Snitches get reduced sentences and cash in the commissary' doesn't rhyme."
~ 3_34544449E14
Wrong Victim
"An inappropriate victim is another mistake."
"Focusing on someone that could potentially draw a lot of media attention for example."
~ rata_s80_v8
Left Behind
"I was listening to a podcast about the blackout ripper in London during WW2. He brought nothing literally with him to the scenes of the crime."
"Just used whatever he found in his victim's houses. Police were baffled until the one time he brought something, his RAF-issued gas mask case with a SERIAL NUMBER inside, and left it at the scene."
~ Reikko35715
"It's funny how many suspects turn out to have Googled things like 'How do you dispose of body parts without being detected'."
"Like they have no idea that Google is tracking everything you write in its prompt."
~ Dimpleshenk
DNA
"Moving forward, DNA is going to be the serial killer killer. Before, police needed DNA evidence from the scene, but still had to do old fashioned police work to find a suspect in order to compare the DNA."
"Now, they can just use genetic genealogy to find a suspect. This process will eliminate a lot of the hard work that was previously needed to catch a killer."
"Brian Kohlberger is a perfect example. The touch DNA from the knife sheath would have been next to useless twenty years ago without a suspect to compare it to. And Brian probably would have gotten away with it."
"Instead, the touch DNA is what led police straight to Brian. They had to do some old fashioned police work once they had their man, to back up the DNA evidence, but that’s a lot easier when you already have a solid suspect."
"The DNA led to him, cell phone pings placed him near the crime scene, security footage showed his car at the scene, his Amazon purchase of the knife, etc..."
"Police suspected a white Hyundai Elantra was the killer’s vehicle, but without a license plate number, they had literally thousands of cars/owners to comb through. Since Brian has Pennsylvania plates, he might not have ever been identified."
~ Personal-Bonus-9245
Cell Phones
"Phone pinging to cell towers."
~ BandicootSpecific286
"I put on some 'real crime' videos in the background a while ago, and pretty much every modern one had an interrogation scene with 'So, you had your cell phone on you the whole time...'."
"Can't get through a murder without a little GPS and Spotify, apparently."
~ CleverInnuendo
"To be fair, if I commited murder I wouldn't be able to find my way to the dump site then back home without GPS."
"They would catch me because I would be wandering in circles with all the evidence still on me."
~ Green7000
Narcissism
"Wanting to be called a serial killer and the notoriety."
"Narcissistic tendencies are the Achilles heel of patterned sociopaths."

'Vanity Fair' Just Explained That Out-Of-Place UFC Moment At The Golden Globes—And Yeesh
At the Golden Globes, there are a few things we all can reliably expect: couture gowns, a headline-making host, unexpected versus disappointing wins, the emotional speeches, and at least one bit that lands… oddly.
This year’s most baffling attempt arrived courtesy of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which briefly hijacked the ceremony with a moment so out of place it felt like the broadcast had accidentally cut to a different network.
The confusion began when Heated Rivalry breakout stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams were introduced as presenters. Variety awards editor Marc Malkin set the stage with a wink:
Marc Malkin joked to the room:
“Our next presenters are so hot right now they get mobbed everywhere they go, so we had to bring in some extra security.”
That “security” turned out to be UFC fighters Mackenzie Dern and Brian Ortega, who emerged in full UFC tracksuits and gloves, silently stalking the stage inside The Beverly Hilton. They flanked Storrie, 25, and Williams, 24, as the actors presented the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television, which went to Adolescence’s Erin Doherty.
Dern and Ortega didn’t speak. They didn’t interact. They appeared, stared down the audience, lingered just long enough to make it uncomfortable, and then disappeared—leaving viewers in the room and at home equally baffled.
You can watch the cringe-worthy moment posted by the UFC below:
Unlike the fighters’ silent cameo, Storrie and Williams gamely tried to salvage the moment, leaning into self-aware humor about their nerves and newfound visibility.
Storrie opened the exchange:
“Hi. I’m sorry, it’s a little nerve-wracking here being at our very first Golden Globes.”
Williams suggested taking a deep breath and imagining everyone naked, trailing off mid-thought before adding with a shrug: “You know.”
With an intro to Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club, you can watch the rest of the Heated awards moment below:

Offstage, the UFC stars were treated like standard red carpet guests rather than ceremony crashers. Dern arrived in a strapless purple gown, while Ortega opted for an all-black tuxedo with a bow tie—a far cry from the intimidating walk-on that preceded their brief stage cameo.
Afterward, Ortega appeared unfazed by the confusion.
Ortega wrote on Instagram:
“What a night. Thank you @ufc for having us here at the Golden Globes.”
He also shared a photo of himself on the carpet, dressed in a black tuxedo and blue sunglasses.
His post celebrating the night can be viewed here:
In reality, the decision behind the cameo was much more corporate based. The Golden Globes aired on CBS and Paramount+, and in October 2025, the UFC signed a seven-year, $7.7 billion deal with Paramount to become the exclusive home of its marquee events in the United States. The first event under that agreement, UFC 324, streams January 24 on Paramount+.
And Vanity Fair confirmed this detail in a tweet:
But that didn’t stop social media from reacting in unison: confusion first, secondhand embarrassment next, and one lingering question: who thought this was a good idea?
You can view the reactions below:
On the red carpet, Ortega defended the crossover.
Ortega explained:
“We are entertainment when you think about it. We’re live entertainment, and we get to showcase our art through fighting. For us to do it with the Paramount deal now, it’s such a great achievement to now be here and being recognized for what we do.”
He added, “We’re humans, not just fighters, you know?”
In the end, the logic holds true in an era marked by streaming wars and subscription consolidation. But that execution, less so. What looked like savvy cross-promotion on paper instead landed like a production note that should’ve stayed in rehearsal.
